Default NEED HELP! CRX Steering

Hello,

I bought a new CRX radio a while back and I am having trouble with the steering. I was testing my race car for a race tomorrow when I turned the wheel to my left and it went about 90 degrees farther than usual. The wheel was out of a-line and a little black plastic piece fell in my throttle hand. I shut the car off and came inside and took the wheel off. There is a round plastic piece with a groove that the screw goes in. There is another plastic piece above that, that modulates how far you can turn the wheel. This is the piece that is broken, about 1/5th of it is what fell in my hand. There is a raised circular plastic piece that both of the other pieces rest on, for lack of a better description, it has a crack through it.
Am I going to need to send this in for repair? And why did this happen? I been very careful with it, and this is the only issue I have with the radio since I bought it. Is there anything I can do temporarily to use it tomorrow?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hey the same thing happened to my CRX. I was advised to send it in for service, but I did a temp fix with CA glue and a zip tie and it's help so far. Not fixed correctly though

Thanks for the advice I will see if it can't get me through tomorrow

The problem is just wierd though. I think it might be weak plastic or something like that. I wonder how many more people have had this problem?

Did you ever send your CRX in? Is it under warranty?

Sorry to hear that Charlie O.

I missed my race this weekend because of it, and it made me look real bad my last race. I am going to send it in this week and see what happens. Charlie O sounds like Hitec customer service did right by you. However, there might be a design or material flaw. I love the CRX otherwise, it's been great, it has all the features I wanted, but it needs to be reliable.

Charlie O what did you end up doing with your CRX?

Thumbs up LYNX 3D REPAIRS

I have to say hitec service rocks.

I sent them a 3D that was dropped more than once.
It had a broken antenna board and face plate around the wheel.

Sent them Just the bare radio no battery pack or module.
They sent me back a complete new radio including a new battery pack, module and DCX reciever for no charge. And it was 2 years old.
And it only took 3 weeks.

HITEC ROCKS!!!!!!!!

UPDATE

I spoke with Hitec customer service on the phone and they said just send it in, like Tres said earlier, and they'll fix it. I spoke with Marty on the phone and he was very nice and helpful, Thanks Marty! Marty said it was a problem with the molds and it has been corrected. So I will be sending it in on Monday. I will miss another race for the turn around time but that can't be helped.

Thanks Hitec

Thumbs down

WEll just to add to the woe's with the hitec crx mine broke on the steering too its a crying shame that these break as i had the same thing with my lynx 3d and had to cough out more cash to get the crx as there was no spare parts avail in the UK for the lynx now that i have had the same thing go wrong on my crx its finally made my mind up to get rid of hitec and go with something that will last more than a few weeks.
