Default Hitec needs your feedback... Please Read!

Hi all,

Here's your chance to shape a future product from Hitec.

We would like to know how important you feel the following features are in a 3 channel FM sport level computer radio.

Please rate each from 1-10 (10 being the highest)

Model Naming
Sub Trim
EXPO
Auto D/R
Ch3 mixing
ABS
Lap timer

Would you sacrifice any features for model naming? If so, which ones?
Would you sacrifice any features for more model memory? If so, which ones?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Okay, here goes.......This is for a "sport level" 3 channel FM radio.....so...

Model naming: 8
sub trim: 5
Expo: 6
Auto D/R: 7
Ch.3 mixing: 2
ABS: 5
Lap timer: 8

I would sacrifice the Ch.3 mixing for model naming.
I would sacrifice Ch.3 mixing and ABS for more memory.

Another question I think you guys should have asked is how much do we think a sport level 3ch. FM radio should cost. It should be about the same as JR's XR3, about $169. Or maybe a little less, about $159.

Its good to know our input counts.

Model Naming - 10
Sub Trim - 10
EXPO - 10
Auto D/R - 8
Ch3 mixing - 1
ABS - 8
Lap timer - 1

Would you sacrifice any features for model naming? If so, which ones? Channel 3, Ch3 mixing, Lap timer

Would you sacrifice any features for more model memory? If so, which ones? Depends. 3 mem is fine for me, 10 is more than enough. But basically, I'm willing to sacrifice Channel 3, Ch3 mixing, Lap timer, to have at least 3 memories.

It's a pleasure to answer.

Some general inputs: About the RX naming and design. The only consistence I can find, is that they are all different....

I may admit that my only Hitec product, is a reciever. The main reason for I didn't buy the Lynx 3D, is that I like a better mechanical quality and look/design, than I find in your TX-line. No offence, that's just my personal point of view. On the other hand, I find that Hitec prices are very attractive. I don't know much about production prices and end-product pricing, but maybe here's a potential of improvement to get folks like me into the fold.

About lap timer: If it could be with an optional transponder in the car, I would rate it to 20, maybe 30.

Here are my opinions for whatever they're worth...

Please rate each from 1-10 (10 being the highest)

Model Naming -- 6
Sub Trim -- 0 if the radio has digital trim, 10 if mechanical trim
EXPO -- 8
Auto D/R -- 0
Ch3 mixing -- 5
ABS -- 5
Lap timer -- 0

Would you sacrifice any features for model naming? If so, which ones?
Model naming is a nice thing to have, but numbering works ok too.

Would you sacrifice any features for more model memory? If so, which ones?
More than 10 model memories? Not necessary in my opinion.

Model Naming --10
Sub Trim
EXPO -- 10
Auto D/R
Ch3 mixing
ABS --10
Lap timer -- 7

Where is EPA or did that automatically make the cut? Electronic Endpoint Adjustment is 10.

I am a Lynx 3D owner. All my servos and escs are Hi-tec

Model Naming-5, would be nice but #'s are fine
Sub Trim - 8, would be nice to acuratly set trim
EXPO- 8, use it often
Auto D/R- 5 , haven't used it on my 3D but heard it works well when used
Ch3 mixing- 1, don't even know what I'd use it for?
ABS - 7, great for nitro cars
Lap timer- 5, most that I have seen are too hard to use anyways

Would you sacrifice any features for model naming? If so, which ones? ch3 mixing
Would you sacrifice any features for more model memory? If so, which ones ch3 mixing

Model Naming = 8
Sub Trim = 1 (if the radio already has digital trim)
EXPO = 7
Auto D/R = 1 (I tired it, never really liked it)
Ch3 mixing - 1 (what's that?)
ABS = 1 (doesn't work well for electric at all)
Lap timer = 5

Model Naming = 10 I need to be able to type stuff in since I have different set-ups for different tracks.
Sub Trim = 4
EXPO = 10 This is a true must have
Auto D/R = 5
Ch3 mixing - 1 Don't need
ABS = 3
Lap timer = 8 Would be really nice to have

I currently have a Lynx 3D, but the abscence of model naming alone has me looking at some other radios for my next purchase. The only other thing that would be a reaaalllly super nice improvement would be the ability to change crystals without removing the module, or dremeling the sender case. If Hitec would fix these two things, I would never buy anything else.

Any chance that we will see a Spectra module that has the dials on the back, and not on the side?

Model Naming 0
Sub Trim 1 But there needs to be regular trim
EXPO 9 very nice for off road applications b/not on-road
Auto D/R 9 very nice for On-road but useless for off
Ch3 mixing What is it?
ABS 5
Lap timer 9 (Can I get this retrofitted to my Lynx 3d?)

Would you sacrifice any features for model naming? If so, which ones?

No, none. my memory works very well thank you.

sub trim, ch3 mixing (since I don't know what it is I wouldn't miss it. Does the Lynx 3d have this?), Model naming, abs.

Left and right handed operation is very important.

It also has to have adjustable end points.
