Default Servo Horn Screw Size?

I hate the phillips head screws that hitec uses. What size screw do I need for the 59** and 79** series of servos to convert it over the hex head.

With an allen head I dont know where you would find it. Maybe micro fasteners?
The stock screws can be found in our screw package #55802.

In a pinch, they are the same size as the endbell screws you would find in an open endbell electric 540 motor... Useless information... UNTIL YOU'RE IN A PINCH!!!!!!!!

HPI makes the exact screw that you need in a hex head. Z421 is the part number, 2.6mm x 8mm machine thread.

FYI

We have the 2.6 x ? hex heads in several different lengths (5,6,8,10,12,16mm).

Starting from $2.95 for a 12 pack. 50 or 100 packs even less per piece!

mcmaster-carr part number 91290A031, $9.53

i added a bag of 50 the last time i ordered something from them. probably overkill, but i'll never need to buy 2.6x8 screws again (until i lose them).

i had this same problem with my jr 9100's servos. the stock screw just backed out on its own. is there any other screws for the jr horn maybe thats not phillips? the only one that backed out is the front steering one with the aluminum horn.

The smaller hitec metal gear servos take a 2.25mm screw. I just tap them to 2.5mm. Too much of a pita to keep special 2.25 screws for a servo.
