I saw these listed at Tower Hobbies. One part number was 7955. Is this a replacement for the beloved 5955 servo? How is it different/better than the older Titanium gear servos?

The 79XX series servos will be the replacement series for the current 5XXX series. These will be a new line of generation 2 digital servos.

Is there a release date yet?

First quarter of the new year is when they are supposed to be released.
