Does anybody know is there a module that compatible with the hitec crx radio? I want to control my mini-z using the crx, but hitec doesn't have a FM to AM conversion module like others radio (airtronic/sanwa, futaba and KO). Mini-Z is running on 27MHz AM freq. Any advise? Thank you.

I too had the same question.....a hobbyshop owner posted in a mini z forum that the futaba am module works.....he stated to use a quality crystal.
my son has a hitec crx....I have a helios tx w the mini z module.....
my plan was to get a module for him. My helios tx took a crapper and i was stuck without a tx....so i bought the futaba 2pl....it was $65. The Futaba am module is about $40. Now I have rethought my idea of having just one tx......In my travels if I find the am module cheap i will get one otherwise the 2pl works awesome......

Hi..thank you for the input. Bermbuster...what do you mean by using a quality crystal? For AM, do we need to match the x'tal brand reffering to the Radio/TX brand ? i.e if we used futaba radio than the X'tal should used the same brand also ?

AM 27Mhz is universal, there is no POSITIVE / NEGATIVE issues like on 75MHz.
You should be able to use any brand X'tal.
However, I would stay with the Hitec x'tals due to the quality of some of the 3rd party ones as Bermbuster stated.
