this is the reason most tracks and organizations have adopted the hard cell rule.

Why worry about it then the track makes a rule you should follow it not make it a public discusion for everyone to point out the info ... plus i only stated facts about other tracks in doing so they all have the power to do what they want but they have to be safe in doing so ... yes hard case can have issues to but soft packs tend to be way worse from what i have seen ( my opinion )
I guess the brightside is they didn't require only ROAR approved batteries.

Like I said, stupid to even try and debate this. Too many people who think they know everything.
Again, point was to ask the owners why they made this decision. Hopefully they'll respond here.

I have a question from someone with no Lipo or electric experience at all:
If there is even a slightest chance that the battery may explode, wouldn't having it in a hard case cause it to then be more of like a grenade with flying, killing Shrapnel, instead of a puff of harmless soft plastic?

I'd ask Doug.

Ok, maybe I'm the one having a bad day. But what is wrong with discussing it here? It is the official thread for the track. What is wrong with asking or even challenging the rule? Maybe there is a chance they will change the rule, but if no one asks then nothing will change.

The guys that you refer to as "only nitro" have well over 30 years of rc experience including electric. It is obviously at the tracks discretion to allow soft case or not. I think all we are saying is that there is a warranted reason for this.

thats totally up to them if you want to ask owners ... on the forum is not the way to do it , you need to speak with them in person and then when they said tell me how many people are with you on this then you can ask around about it and get the answer whatever it maybe good luck
Best RC forum I've found. Love this site.

They read this forum, so this is a good place to ask. Asking in person is probably better, but not very convenient and then I'm the only person who knows. Everyone can read their response here, at least those who read this thread.
