still need the supply to convert ac to dc... it blows but I can either get a new charger or need a new power supply. A converter will take 12v ac and turn it into 120 volts ac so that would work if you dont have a generator.

Cool

but with the converter you could power it off your truck. But if you get a new charger i may want the old one....... i smell a trade.

You can hook your charger right up to your car battery without a converter as long as it has the leads from the charger.

my charger is a lrp pulsar 3 dc charger... Dont I need a power supply or can you still hook it up to a battery? I was under the impression I needed a power supply to convert ac power to dc power to run the dc charger?

Hook it straight to the battery in your vehicle. The battery in your car has 12 volts DC = 12 V power supply.
