Abdul Ali!!! I was looking for you the last time I was at the Nitro Pit . I asked Lynchmob but he didn't know where you were. Anyways, try to make the May race at SRS. Tell Paul to show up as well with his nitro touring car. I wonder if he's done with the lola body.

Yep bought my first magnum Sr. from Mark McVittie for my RC 500 and used a XL2P for my Delta p12. The CS2P was the same as the XL only on FM. Still have both of them sitting in my garage. Remember those days Bill?

Yes on-road was first but that was over 20 years ago and SRS was at a different location.

Yep I did'nt know Bill then but both of us were racing there in the late eighties. That location is now a boat shop, if you drive by and think about that entire area south of the building was all nice smooth asphalt. No dirt to be seen anywhere, no touring cars, only 1/12 and around 1990 1/10 pan cars became the rage.

The original owner of SRS loved on road, off road was an after thought. The on road track was about 180 feet by about 50-60 feet. On road was king. We had 2 locals and 5 US drivers make the A main at the 87 IFMAR world championship at the Ranch Pit Shop in CA. It was like off road is now at the Nitro Pit. We had enough drivers to have 2 wheel drive sportsman and 4 wheel drive sportsman and 4 wheel drive expert in 1/8 scale. 1/12 scale would get 20-30 drivers out there. I wish it was still like that. I stopped racing in about 91. When I decided to get back into it last year I looked at what was getting the biggest turn out because I love competition. I had to pick off road based on turn out. I love on road. Everything I watch on TV is on road. F1 Moto GP IRL you name it. I would love to race 1/8 scale on road. If that ever comes back I will be right there. And remember guys on road started with a club, not a track. They bought old fire hoses from the Fire Dept. and raced in parking lots. They stood on milk crates or the back of their cars. You can bring it back. Find a local event that has some room to setup a track. Invite the local news, show people how much fun this is and that it can be a family sport. Something fathers and sons and mothers and daughters can do. The sport can be resurrected.

It's hard to find dedicated people nowadays. As much as I love onroad, I couldn't even dedicate enough time for the sport as much as I want to due to other things in life and family. All I could do is show up and race every week whenever I can. But that doesn't have anything to do with me trying to support the onroad scene or what not, I do it because I love onroad and the people I hang out with.

Again, change of phase, change of interest, hot class is offroad or whatever, I'm just glad I have both now so I can feed my RC addiction.

Show up in May, show your so called "love" for onroad and let's all have fun.
