A lot of folks are testing the waters with v11. Both are fast... And choices can be confusing
V7 is my tc 17.5 and 13.5 goto motor
The prior v9 is/was amazing in 1/12... Gotta start v11 testing for 1/12 this winter...

I have been able to try both the V7 and V11 motors in the spec TC classes (17.5 and 13.5) and have been very happy with the performance of both. I cannot pick which one I prefer, but I generally think the V11 may be a slightly punchier motor whereas the V7 a more top end motor. Both great options.

V7 is the gold-standard and what most people know/can help with, so for that reason it might be the route to go.

I run the V11 in 17.5 12th scale and it's been pretty good. Prior to that I ran the V9, but I think the V11 has a slight edge on it. My V9 13.5 was a beast. Would love to see what a V11 can do but we don't run that anymore except for WGT.

Can you guys tell me what the IR is on the R1 high output batteries in perticular 6000 mah. I was wondering if these are designed for spec racing?

Mine is in the 1.2~1.4 range after a 30 amp discharge and a 20 amp charge. This was recommended to me by Mr.R1 himself at Tamiya track.

If you are running 17.5 or 13.5 TC, you would want the 7600 90C pack. I've seen IR's as low as .9/1.0 per cell.

I run VTA and USGT 6000 is legal limit in VTA.
.9/1.0 is very good.

V11 17.5 for 1:12: Start around 40* timing on the can and a 95 rollout. This should get you started and you can adjust accordingly from there. Good luck.

this motor is very good and nicely built, extremely speedy and has a ton of torque.. the only hindrance is the cogging problem on the 2017 version with some ESC specially the REDs brand and muchmore ones.. rotor size and dimension is basically a photocopy of team trinity d4.. so not a problemif you want to change it and make it even stronger.. bought 2 of these, tried once then sold it the day after.. otherwise very strong motor

In 12th scale I found that anything over 45* the V11 17.5 motor will cog with a SMC esc.
