Looking for a starting point in 1/12th stock (17.5) with not limitations on speedo, tight track. Roll out and speedo settings as a starting point for my son. He is using a RS Pro in a AE 12R5.1

Jeff we can Josh close in no time... I have a normal base we put in new cars that gets a good start for stock 1/12th... From there we will have to work driving style roll out to lock in the motor.

O'k, he may stop by on saturday if you end up having practice after oval racing as long we/he knows about it in time.

Default 17.5 Redline Rotor Question

I'm looking to replace the rotor in my 18 month old 17.5 Redline. I'll be running 1/12th scale spec, "blinky", no boost, would you recommend the 12.3 or 12.5 mm rotor?

What is the performance and/or feel difference between the 12.3 and 12.5 mm rotor ROAR legal?

Thank you.

12.3 more speed

12.5 more torque

I'd phrase what you said about the 12.3 rotor as "more RPM" instead of "more speed". You more than likely would need to change your gearing when changing rotors.

When running 1S 1/12th scale, is there an advantage in running one rotor over the other?

I see other motor manufacturers offering 1S rotors and they seem to have a smaller diameter.

I guess I should be asking what is a 1S motor? Is the Tekin motor a good 1S motor?

question on the tekin RS. is there a limit on the amount of times you can solder on the posts?

i replaced my battery wires once, and in the next couple of days im going to replace my capacitor on my tekin rs as well add a 1s booster, to which ill have to remove my battery wires again off the posts... i know if i have the iron on too long, it can damage it, but i make sure i let it cool and work quickly....

No there is no limit, as long as you don't leave the heat on for too long. Just follow the instructions on soldering in the RS manual, they are good.
