Well I'll be. I took my rear hinge pins out and could feel drag right away. almost felt like they were sticky. So I pull out a new 2.0 pin and calipers to measure them. The 3.0 pin is slightly bigger.

3.48mm new 2.0 hinge pin

3.49mm new 3.0 hinge pin

The 2.0 pin slid through the a arm with ease. However, I cleaned the 3.0 hinge pin with motor spray polishing it with a towel. It changed colors as I cleaned it. It seem to fit better right away. I measured it again to see if the sticky stuff made it thicker. No Sir, it measured the same. Just slightly bigger than the 2.0 hinge pin. Not satisfied with the results, I sprayed dry lube on the 3.0 pin and let it dry a few seconds. Now the pin slides perfect with no drag or bind. I repeated the clean and lube on the other side. With shocks off the arms were much better.

I put it back together with no shocks or sway bar. I felt binding on left side. No play front to rear at all. I backed out the suspension holder screws some and the arms flop up and down with no binding. So there were two issues on my rig causing this bind. The sticky stuff on the pins and the suspension holders pinching the a arms. The larger pin is fine after cleaning and reaming the a arm. Some dry lube also helps.

Truck still sits low and might need stronger springs, but the suspension moves easy now with no binding. I know it helped raise my right height 1.mm or little more. I plan to clean the rear hub pins next.

I use to think that was the ideal way "flush" but I was way off. Liverc just posted a video by Tessman how to set sway bars. Check it out very helpful.

I am not sure if we had the holes for both chassis screws on the 2.0 chassis. The end most ones would fit though. This in many ways is going back to the 1.0 braces I have not tried to compare those though.

The rear shocks lean inward towards the chassis correct? I'm about to tear the resr end apart to try and solve my rebound issue

Default Battery Selection

What battery options are you guys running in your set-ups? Inboard or standard connectors? I wanted to go Orion 2s 7200 but that product has been discontinued.

The rear shocks shouldn't have any rebound, since they are emulsion style shocks.

You need an Adobe PDF reader app to view a PDF file properly. I'm guessing you tried to view it on your phone and don't have the app downloaded.

The weight of this truck will likely burn up a 540 motor of any type, especially a 17.5T. I'd go with a proper 550 2-pole of 4-pole motor, then turn down the travel or EPA to a speed that he can handle.

Thanks Frank, you are right, using my phone. I'll have to download that app.
I got the rear ended torn down, my arms are binding bad, loosened everything and still binding. How did you guys go about reaming them?

As Frank stated you will likely burn up the motor. Finding 3mm shaft 32P pinions are hard.

Either a lower KV 540 4 pole or a larger lower KV 550 2 pole motor.

I turn down the RTR motor in my son's Troy Lee SCTE with the Fuze 3900KV motor. Way too much straight up but you can make it manageable through radio settings.

Tekin makes a whole range of Pro-4 Motors.

lower KV rates that would tame down the truck quite a bit and hold up to the weight of the truck. I would stay under the 4000KV if you are trying to find a detuned motor as that is still pretty darn fast but then again he could want more power after a little track time and going bigger on the motor and turning it down with settings keeps you from having to make another purchase.

I use a drill bit. It's really hard to get the hole size 100% correct... WITH the set screw inserted, it distorts the hole for the hinge pin. If you drill or ream, make sure to do it AFTER you insert the droop screw.

Thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated
I'll keep the 17.5in the blitz for little sister

I run Tekin in 1/8 scale and 22-4 2,0

I like the build and the maintenance aspects. I'll let him drive them so I sold the 4.0e and ordered the SCTE 3.0.

Thanks again for all your help
