is this car more durable then the RD Mongoose? I have smacked into the wall at just 20mph and broken 2 parts, is the plastic made of the same quality?
Like is the RD Mongoose RD plastic and Team magic uses a different plastic or does RDLogics get their Mongoose and plastic from Team magic?

I am having a tough time choosing between the G4S and R40, I already have a RD Mongoose and know the car, but parts support is coming all online.
I ordered from Ace Hardware Hobbies and they take a bit longer then expected to deliever, and ordering from raceday is getting tiresome.
Are there any hobby shops around CT that carry parts? I know brooklyn hobbies do but they are pricey and kinda far, I might have to get the R40

If its between the R40 and ANY G4 go with the G4. I used to have an R40 and although the car drives well it is in no way an improvement over the car you are currently running. The R40 centax is vastly inferior and requires constant eminence and tuning. On the cost front the R40 may have a cheaper kit price and is a decent value for club racing but when outfitted with all the upgrades already included in other manufactures pro level kits the true cost is $200-$300 more than you would pay for a G4S, MTX4 or Kyosho Vone-RRR WCE in race trim. I can't speak to the durability of the mugen or V1 but HPI plastic used on the R40 is softer than that of the TM car and wears much faster.
If you Mongoose is still tight and in good shape I would suggest sticking with it until the car's wear warrents a replacement. If you are set on a new car this season and have been happy with your mongoose go for the G4s. If you are looking for a new car because you are not pleased with your current ride try a Kyosho or Mugen.

RC maddness is in the north of CT im at the SW corner, its almost an hour and 1/2 to get there, and gas is $3.20 here .
I'm pleased with the Mongoose but I want the new setup of the G4S, the easier to access parts like radio gear and servos, its a pita to work on the electronics on the Mongoose, I would get the upgrade kit but for $375 I rather get a new car, UFO clutch, new setup and all

I got my Mongoose converted. And I must say I am very impressed. I put the car on the balancing pegs after I was finished and it had a pretty much perfect left/right balance.
Now that I see the rear belt tensioner up close, its design is simply brilliant. I mean, as little as an 1/8 of a turn can really change the tension on the rear belt. The new steering system is very nice. I love the new battery position, brings proper balance and the included wire set makes it easy to get everything set up cleanly.
Quick question, does the new chassis lengthen the car at the front end? I ask because my previously perfect fitting Mongoose body is now a little odd fitting at the front. I had to lengthen the front body holes slightly and the tires are a little more forward than they were before.
Just wondering....
*edit* Just compared my old Mongoose chassis to the new G4s chassis. It certainly doesn't look like anthing has changed length wise, but man, something certainly seems different about the way my body mounted.
Can't wait to get it on the track. I should be able to give it a test this weekend end. No real racing unfortunately, but at least I can try it out.
