Isnt Motor Spray the same thing as Brake cleaner, IE the one with Hexane's as the main ingredient?
vortex: no, they are actually different.
Yeah, brake cleaner can be some wild stuff depending on the brand you get, and it just isn't the same as motor spray, mainly because it smells like something wicked and it takes longer to dry.

Monster based stock motors have done well by me.

Don't we all race with "friends"?

I have been having an overheating issue with Monsters on really hot days of 90 degrees plus.

Is there another stock motor that handles that kind of heat better?

Thanks.

Well, if you don't mind alittle less power and more difficult tuning, the Orion or Reedy stocks have the better FB9 magnets....so they won't suffer from the fade you see in the trinity stocks, which use the cheap wet press magnets.

You should just buy a Much More Motor cooler or use the ice trick.....start the motor out cooler and it won't have problems on those hot days....in fact, any day they are worth using.

So if you want a longer lasting motor you must sacrifice some power because of the FB9s?

In other words the FB9 magnets are weaker but how does that translate to more regular motor maintenance?

The FB9 is actually a more powerful magnet than you will get in a trinity stock.....but, because they are so powerful, they actually over power the armature. At some races, when they were the handout, we actually had to take them to a propane torch to demagnetize them some....these magnets are really meant for modified motors

The MVP/Hellfire is also VERY tricky to tune.....numerous tweaks need to be done to the hoods along with the brushes needing to be cut down on both sides.

On the dyno, the MVP will max out around 97 watts at 20 amps and 118-120 at 28 amps.......while a monster will be 100+ and 125+....and on the track, the monster blows it away in most classes......however, on the local scene....I highly doubt 7 watts will be the difference between first and second, its gonna come down to driver and car setup.....

Just wanted to know what the difference is between a 'binary 2' stock motor to a monster or a roar motor?

Also, is the 'binary 2' legal for racing?

Many thanks in advance.

Leonard.

The Binary stockers had quad magnets, and were epoxy-balanced. Both of those are illegal by current ROAR rules. The rules call for 2 magnets and a drill-balanced armature.
