psycho- 3000 might be good. Let us know how good it works.

19 turn spec looks like the wave of the future. Lets get it off to a good start by using it exlusively in our F201.
I am glad to hear you guys are into running the F201's as i am organizing a spec class of them for this coming carpet year in Coquitlam.I hope to have some input from you guys on what will work best for spec rules as far as what should be allowed.Contact me with any input please.I hope to see some of you out there this year.I have mine now and I am looking forward to some great racing.
Also for the remainder of the on road out door schedual I hope to run this car a few more times as I have only run two packs thru it.

I was waiting to purchase the F201 untill this kit came out because of the two bodies and the supposed lower price of 3000yen/$20-25US. (Shizuoka Hobby Show New Items Release)
Insted, the kit is being sold for $20 more than the original kit.
Oh well, I guess I waited for nothing. Time for me to place my order with my LHS for the Ferrari kit!

Late,

You can order the F201 w/original bodies from RainbowTen in Japan... the kit cost about $140.00 and shipping is about $30-40.. The body is also available seperately for about $25.00

I'm a bit curious about this car, so could someone tell me a few things:
The car is pretty cheap, so does it have ball bearings?
Will saddle packs fits?
Is there a chassis for saddle packs?
Will the drivetrain take the power of the most powerfull motors?
Thanks!

jesseT: yes, the car has ball bearings. the stock chassis only accepts stick packs. im not sure if you can fit side by side packs if you use a dremel on the chassis, but i think ive heard someone try it. there is an aftermarket carbon fiber chassis, but i dont think its for saddle packs. the stock gear ratio is fixed because of a non-adjustable motor mount, im not sure what is the fastest motor that can make use of the existing gear ratio. but from what i read down the thread, theyre using 19T motor with great success.

Yes I know about the motor and surely it has to be changed. Does anyone know about a chassis that accepts side by side packs? Are you all running stick packs?

There are two problems with using anything other than stickpacks on the F201. The forst is with the kit chassis. There are plastic spacer thingies that hold the stick pack in place. 30 minutes of Dremel work will take care of that. The real problem is because of the "battery cups." They are rounded and provide rigidity on the right side, so you can't really Dremel them to make side-by-sides fit. These cups are also where the body posts mount to, so if you chop them up, you have no place to mount the body. I have the Cross chassis (sorry DS, I didn't get time to take pix.) It would fit side-by-sides easily if it weren't for the battery cups. I plan on making a plate that the body posts can mount to so I can get rid of the battery cups. This should also make a solid place to glass tape the battery to. I'll let you know if this is going to work.

Hey adrian, do you know if take-off will be making tires for the f201? A set in the cs-27 compound would rock!!

I just got around to cleaning my chameleon and man talk about a pristine comm. I barely skimmed it and it was ready to go. What ratios are you adj. motor mount guys running? The stock gearing seems pretty close to perfect?

I have to agree with you on that..I too found the same results after a full day of racing/practicing with my F201/Chameleon combo... For this very reason I hope that this combo catches on as the "SPEC"...Efficient, yet still fast enough to have tons-o-fun...

Trinity-- Alot of guys sware by the cham 2, but I had plenty of power w/the original. E brushes red spring + green on -. I bent each spring slightly to lighten up tension and had a substantial power/topend increase while keeping stock gearing
