Nevertheless, I am still deadset on geting my hands on the checkpoint when it arrives in my LHS. Thank you.

Ran the new DC Integy based can this weekend and all I can say is WOW. This is hands down the fastest 19 turn motor I have ever run. Curtis tuned it with the "F" brush and sent it to me. The motor was good from start to finish and all I did was cut the comm between runs (something I always do) and was set from there. DC also supplied me with killer 3800's to power my car. I was also given a tuned DC C2 to test for the nationals but put it down in favor of going faster. If you get a chance you have to get one of the new Integy based motors from DC. These things are the real deal. No one had more motor than the EC that was powered by DC

G-Dizzle is correct; the plastic endbells are for the OEM mods and upcoming spec motors to be released by Checkpoint.
The decision of using plastic endbells on the OEM mods was strictly a cost issue. Steve said he couldn’t manufacturer the Al endbells cheap enough to compete in the OEM market. As for performance; for those of you who think strapping a piece of aluminum to a electric motor will make it go faster, I've got some magical beans for sale
So far our testing with the plastic endbell has yielded the same operating temperatures as the Al version, 145-165*F…..
