Allthough in your case, a failsafe would not have helped.

is that because a fail safe always needs power?

Correct, power must be on at all times. Also, another good idea as a failsafe when you lose power altogether is to link up a strong spring from your servo horn to the top plate somewhere so it pulls it into brake automatically.
vones - i know all the features, i used to own the old orange mars. a bit difficult to read being a small screen but advantage is that it doesnt use as much battery power as the other units on the market like the 3PK or JR R1 or the the Sanwa M8.

BTW I think I shuld work on the throttle rtn spring, in case of run-aways......happen to me once on my v1-s, conrod was a goner.....some bloody idiots just don't check their freq when on the track.....

the spring would only pull the throttle closed if power is lost, if you have a freq. clash, the spring could not overpower the motor of the servo thats where the failsafe comes in.

How much are the fail safes?
do the throttle return springs put extra strain on the servo gears and motor?
Squizz wat is the book u got that has all the setup help stuff and how much would someone expect to pay for it?
