Hacker Brushless TensorIC ESC and Skalar Motors
#46
I wanted to give everyone an update with the tensoric esc and Skalar motors.
With this combo I was able to tq and win main 1 at this years reedy race.
This combination in addition to the awseomatix's incredible drivetrain and handling I was able to to run insane lap times very close to the 13.5 guys.
Combo used:
Skalar 17.5 geared at a 3.6 fdr. 40degrees of timing.
Tensoric 10 esc with punch level 9 and 87.5 brake.
New R.O.A.R approved Aero-Model 7200mah 2s 80c w/5mm bullet connectors.
I would also like to congratulate Ryan Cooper and Dave Zorn for there A-main finishes in 17.5 at this years reedy race.
Ryan also ran the tensoric 10 esc with the Skalar 17.5 and Aero-model 7200. 80c battery.
Ryan ended up with the same settings ans fdr as I did.
Congrats to Ryan as he finished 3rd overall.
Dave ran the Skalar 17.5 with a tekin esc. He ran 3.7 fdr and 40 degrees of timing. Congrats to Dave with his 6th place finish overall.
Thanks to everyone who ran Hacker / Aero-model products
Please let me know if you have any questions about our setups.

Great job Kyle! I was watching all weekend and you were just crazy fast!
Jayson Mckinley, Gianni Basso, and Mike Burris attended the SRS Memorial Day Race and took home 6 podium finishes. Three 1st, one 2nd, and two 3rd place trophies.
All using the TensorIC 10 esc, Skalar10 motors in 17.5, 13.5, and 7.5.
Aeromodel 4600mah 80c shorty lipo's.

Thank you Kyle for all the help! I would have been in left field all week if you were not there to help. By far best speedo/motor combo and that battery was insane. With the 5mm connectors the punch is crazy. Ill have the drivetrain of the awesomatix soon.....
Thanks again Kyle!
Thanks again Kyle!

Thanks for the props Kyle! Hacker cars all looked fast and plenty of torque. I might have needed to dump my Tekin to stay with you and Cooper in A main at Reedy. Will say, the Hacker motor was strong all weekend. Tried the new Killshots and it was smoke after smoke. So went back to the Hacker motors, ran strong and felt better than the Killshots. Will stick with purple power in the future!

Thanks. Good to hear that. We sometimes get track temps close to 60 degC in summer. Only thing that bugs me, is in the pamphlet is states that when you want to increase timing, move it clock-wise.... That will decrease timing if I am not mistaken. I will be running boosted ..... I am thinking of starting on 6.44 fdr (30.72) 116/36. Does this sound ok. This will be with Orca VXX esc

Haven't done boosted 17.5 in years so don't remember what gearing was about right. I'd start the same as you do today, the Hackers seem to be inline with other brands gearing(trinity/Orion). Maybe Kyle will see this and have a better idea and where to run the timing as well.

I had by d3.5 on 6.64 as well as the KillShot. 116/35. I will leave the esc settings the same and check the temps after 2 min. Hopefully it will work

I know this thread isn't very active, but I was wondering if anyone could comment on the Hacker Skalar 10's gearing/power characteristics as compared to a Thunder Power Z3R? I'm looking to upgrade from my Novak in 21.5 and these are the two motors I'm considering, but I don't know anyone running the purple can.

Hey guys, how do we get spare fans, what fits on the tensoric 8 and tensoric 10?
