That is how I understand the "Wing" rules in USVTA. Only the "scale wing" included with the HPI 17546 body is allowed in VTA.

All other "Whale Tail" or High-downforce wings are strictly prohibited in VTA racing.

No. Wings are not allowed. Only vintage correct spoilers like the one that comes with the 68 and 69 Camaro's are legal. There isn't one that comes with that Mustang body.

The only guy who runs his VTA with the "Kit-included Wing" can't even keep his car pointed in the same direction as the flow of traffic. He knows that the wing is not permitted in VTA. As it turned out, after hitting the walls at least a dozen times, the wing fell off the car in mid-race anyway.

Always refer to http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html for the final word in USVTA rules.

It clearly states:

Myron, don't make me bust out the digital calipers. My calibrated eyeball tells me that the spoiler on that Mustang has a chord longer than 20mm. Gonna have to take some scissors to it.

As a matter of fact the guy who won 1st place in VTA at the 2012 Snowbirds had the HPI 17546 body with the scale wing on it. Hmmm, maybe the wing does make a big difference? But who cares about wings anyway, take a look at those "dots" they had at the Snowbirds!
