whatever gets you to 130 degrees at peak,5 amps isn't enough I charge at 8

6-6.5 is safe and will give you more punch. At 8 amps you are relying on temp cutoff. You batteries should last longer at lower charge rates.

Hi guys, just to share, I have been using 5.6amps for 3800s and 6.3amps for 4200s, peak detect 12 (0.02mV per cell) for outdoors charging ambient temperature 36C-38C, fan starts 42C cuts 48C - attached with HeatSinkII (part #MR-BHB2), works great, lots of punch, does not overheat and peak-cut all the time.
For night outdoors charging, I change the peak detect to 18 or 24 (0.03 or 0.04mV) ambient temperature 26C, works great.

I can tell you for sure that at anything below 7 amps and your not getting the full punch potential of 4200WC cells,if your running mod then yea go to a lower charge rate to get the runtime and use the motor for the punch other wise you need the higher charge rates to get the most out of these cells,who cares how long they last,a newer cell will be out before you get the full life of your cells anyway.That's why the major matchers say don't buy but two or three packs at a time anyway,fresh voltage wins everytime over old voltage,that's why the guys that race at the major races always have new packs.

The IB cells respond well to high charging rates (as long as the cells don't get hot enough to be damaged), and a 7A charge rate actually works pretty well in mod touring, especially with brushless .

Thanks guys, that's very informative .

However, whenever I charged at 7amps, it will have a temp cut before reaching max capacity. I have been trying to charge at 7amp with delta peak set at 06 and yet the packs temp-cuts i.e. reached 48C. And that too has been charged with the HeatsinkII attached and its fans spinning. The air temperature here is just too hot i guess.
What settings would you normally charge in summer time?

what batteries are u using? i dun think it will temp cut with matched packs.

Hi Flameboy,
Try it out and see if the same problem occurs.
Maybe it is just my new SMC IB4200 pack that gave the problem. I used the following setting on the CTXCM 7amp, 06deltapeak.
BTW that particular SMC pack of mine have been disposed off.

I've got a cellmaster and all is perfect ...but fans are very noisy :-(

Did anyone try to replace the original fans with better ones?

To be honest, the fans that come with it are really really good. They are loud because they are moving a lot of air. Those are fans Much More had designed specifically for that application.

OK guys, I just got my first LiPo cells. I got the Much More 11.1v 2100 mAh radio pack for my M11. It doesn't say anywhere how many cells this thing is and how to charge it. I want to make sure I do this right. I'm still a little hesitant about LiPo's.
