So I searched for "Serpent V4 motor mount" and the correct one shows up.

Yes you are right. The v3 motor mount is as above. It was mainly to cater for stock racing where large pinions are used to get low FDR's. The ERYX 3.0 mount or V4 is the one with the low screws.

Steve. You're absolutely right. I'm in. Having completed a total of 5 minutes practice time in stock TC, I've grown bored and need a new challenge.
I've ordered the V3, pn 401601. $39 on Amazon with $10 shipping. Weird thing is it's coming from DeSoto, but their website wants $30 to ship.

Interesting, I ran the V1/V2 mount without any issues getting a 4.0. I ran (and still run) 64p, but 47pin 96 spur was easy to fit. I run mostly RW spurs, but have also had Serpent, Xray, and ARC. I have the V4 mount on both of my cars now and I do not have to tighten through the spur anymore, but it really was not an issue before.

Received my V3 motor mount today. It's a nice bit of alloy. I noticed the vertical plate it attaches to blocks access to the lower mounting holes. Can the bit I've outlined be safely removed? I notice on the revision Gary posted above, that whole section appears deleted.
EDIT: Too late. It's done!
