I was not implicating Cody specifically people...but the entire race results savoya having a fair chance. If it happened an hour before and was corrected before the race and savoya dropped out from servo failure, that is great news and the issue is pretty much dead. That was a fantastic race and I am super glad Cody King won it! I run Hot Bodies and I am not a fan boy for any thing in this hobby. I wish there would have been an american sweep but thats just me. I would guess that Hara had more time on that track than anybody since he lives there and that makes the win even sweeter.

Thumbs down Hmm

But, why??

I can't imagine anyone being so low as to try this to hurt another driver.

Even if it didn't get to the engine, it could clog the fuel filter, and displace fuel and throw run times off.

Man..The really blows.

There are already three pages worth of discussion on this in the other thread.

Red face Metal in tank

1. The metal should not get past the brass filter in the bottom of the tank.
2. There could have been smaller particles that could get past that we did
not see.
3. Maybe a fuel gun broke while being used to fuel his car earlier and this
wasn't noticed til later.
4. If Reno had servo problems and the was the cause of his problems and not
engine issues, this issue is basically a dead deal as far as his last race goes.
5. If someone did put the metal in the tank, no matter what, that is really sad
to hear someone would go so low as to try to take a person out of a race.
He has as much right to be in the race as anyone else. Reno earned the
chance just as much as every has.

6. Now if it was placed there from his camp in order to make a stink. That
unfortunate for him as well..

In a mugen tank if the clunk filter is removed, you will only get about 5-6 min run time, if you are lucky ( i lost one on a mbx5r)

If Anything, the metal could have been sucked to the filter and clogged it. There is NO way these shavings could get through the clunk filter AND then a ext filter.

I would bet his motor is fine, It just couldn't get any fuel.

broken fuel gun/bottle is a long shot. What type of fuel does he use? Maybe it comes in a metal can?

An accident(such as fuel gun) seems like REALLY long shot.

This is the stupidest dam conversation I've ever heard. It happened after a semi that he finished well in. Then they had ample time to re-prep the car. If there were concerns they should have changed the tank and motor. So who cares about it. If someone really did it carma will get them. And it sure the hell doesn't taint anynes main

The cars are pretty much rebuilt after the semi anyway. Swapping a tank is no big deal.

I watched it all live and these guys are right, it happened WELL before the final started. I don't know why it says it was caught while warming up his engine. Maybe it all happened just before the semi final and we didn't hear about it until after?? I don't know, but it definitely happened well before the main final started. How it happened, I have no clue. It could easily have been an accident. Metal shavings in a fuel gun, etc... I'd like to think that was the case rather than a sabotage attempt, but who knows. If it was a sabotage attempt it was a pretty lame one. I don't see what could possible become on it. You've got a filter in the tank and possibly an external filter. Nothing was getting through to the engine. Servo failure put him out of the final early on. Congrats to Cody King, the King!
