There won't be any conversion because pretty much everything has changed, so to bring a current Mi2 up to EC spec would change pretty much everything . The chassis, topdeck, shock towers, shocks, arm mounts, arms, front and rear hubs, front knuckles, bulkheads, diffs, layshaft, layshaft pulleys, CVD's, hex hubs... you get the idea . If you want to put just a few things from the new car on the old car I'm sure you could. Such as the towers, but the geometry still wouldnt be the same as the EC because the arm mounts have been moved.

Hey Guys,

WHat does this mean (taken from Weylin's setup): Center track-rod 40.8mm. Tower spaced 2.5mm forward. Camber in middle upper hole. BMI shock towers

"Center track-rod 40.8mm." : The rod that connects the two steering bell cranks is 40.8mm long.

"Tower spaced 2.5mm forward." : The front shock tower has 2.5mm spacers between it and the bulkhead (This will effect the camber gain) to move it forward. This lines up the camber link with the CVD.

"Camber in middle upper hole. BMI shock towers" : The BMI shock towers that he has, I believe there's 8 positions you can use. The position he's using is the middle column, upper hole.

Anytime

I'm really looking forward to the EC coming. But like someone else mentioned, what's up with the gold preload collars. P-Dub Racing needs to come up with some purple or black ones

OK...stupid question number agillion...if I change over to the lower shock towers, I have to grind off part of the lower ball cup on the shock, right?? I tried installing them and bottomed the shock completely. Guess that means I have to shorten the shocks to about 62 mm (currently have them at 66mm) and grind off some of the ball cup? How much?

Thanks...Mark

Forgot to say...on the MI2...

Shorten the shock lengths up and cut about 2mm off the ball cup on the shock. We usually run about a 63-64mm shock length.

You can get a setup station like the Hudy or the Integy one. You can also measure the distance between the front of the tires to the rear of the tires. This is kind of a tough way to do it but it works if done right. I'd get a setup station. It's much easier and much more accurate.

This is the one I have and it works just fine. There's really no need to go and spend 5 times as much on the new Hudy one. It's very nice but not really necessary.

Boy your smart ! How'd you know all that stuff without asking me ? The BMI tower's I was using with that upper middle position raised the link about 4mm above the stock carpet tower upper middle hole. I've also just drilled stock carpet towers to achieve the same location.

Cant we just use spray paint for the gold shock collars ? I hate spending money on shock collars !!!
