I polish the ball side of the rings with 1500 grit and rough up the out drive side with 100 grit so it won't slip on the drive hub at all. I only grease the ball side of the rings and keep the hub side very clean. I've found with this method I'm able to run the diff super lose without slippage and it's very easy on the thrust bearing too......just my .02

X Ray have there own way and others have there's x ray has designed there diff with out the d shape rings so that under extreme forces the rings slip on the out-drive instead of the balls slipping on the rings which will course pitting of the rings and balls that's why you put a small amount of lube between the out drive and the ring.In the cases where the out drives are keyed with the d shape ring and keyed on the out drive if the diff is to loose or slips during a run then there is no second chance more then likely the diff will go gritty and not work as smooth as it should.Hope that clears the confusion up

I need around the 3.5 mark for the ETS, i will need a 39 tooth pinion for a 78 tooth 48Dp

this is the max gearing , we can go higher but not lower so i guess we need to e areound 4.0 but i dont know as i cannot test the speedo before the weekend as they are not ready for us yet.

the track has a 90m straight and is fast and flowing with 2 tighter corners

What is he having a problem with? The car is very capable and a few of us could actually be of some help. Just have to be careful of whom you ask.

Find an RW distributor near you ;

Xray Spurs now available in BLACK 64Dp and 48Dp:
64Dp available from 80 tooth to 136 tooth.
48Dp available from 45 tooth to 105 tooth.

http://www.rwracing.co.uk/cars.html

I believe they make the original Schumacher kit spur gears etc as well.
