Maybe same style but they are different.

DX12: Carburetor : 3 Needles Slide 5.4 mm
D3R: Carburetor : 3 Needles Slide 5.5 mm
D5R: Carburetor : 3 Needles Slide 6.5 mm

From what I read earlier in this thread the larger D5R carb makes it harder to tune. My D3R tunes pretty easy. If I have issues when I use get around to using the D5R I'll just use the D3R carb I guess

IMO sounds like people trying to justify wasting $$ on a more expensive engine I think they are great engines. Thats why I have selected STS a number of times

D12X comes in 3 and 5 port versions.

Or you can just buy the 5.4mm aluminum venturi from me. Then you can pop it on and off without having to remove and replace carbs which can lead to air leaks.

Ive heard of os TZ engines dying in 2-3 gallons. As for STS motors , Ive heard they start making more power around 1-2 gallons , lol.

Out of all the STS motors Ive sold , not one has broken internally. In fact not one person has even told me of any problems. Everyone I speak to says this motor does very well at there track.

Also last sundays race. I got TQ for my class another pro-hobby driver got TQ in his class , both with the STS D3R motor.
