And secondly, does anyone feel this is even an issue worth messing with ?
What parts are binding?

If it is drivetrain chatter - that is unavoidable with a spool unless you customise some fancy front driveshafts.

Parts binding doesn't happen on my car, it is all free from lock to lock, standard parts.

I think he means using ECS driveshafts. Haven't had a problem with the standard parts, steel up front ally in rear.

Must say curiosity has got the better of me and I'm gonna put in my Litemodz CVS in a couple of weeks. Perhaps I have more money than sense

No binding on my photon with standard parts. Front steel, rear all.

Has anyone tried a different brand of ball joint? Wondering if there is a brand out there which fits with minimal slack. Any recommendations?

My friend put the Litemodz in and they did not last long in the front of his Photon!

I have also seen a lot of failures so I decided not to use them until they sorted out the problems, which seems to be the case. I've got the new clips which do seem good and am crossing my fingers for steel axles. They will be thinner, which means more available lock, which I hope will increase reliability dramatically.

Default Car turned out good, I'm happy.

Thanks for all the help so far. My car is coming along good. I made a bunch of changes suggested by one of the local racers.

Sealed the frames.
Changed springs to correct positions.
Adjust sway bars.
Adjusted shock oil.

I still have stuff on order from Tower to finish it off. The 4PL is not going to be here until the end of the month.
Then the real set up begins.

Here are a couple pics.

Thanks,
Chris

Looking at the pics of your car i wonder if that is the finished result??
If so isn't it sitting a bit high??
I still see a cutting edge on the body so it can move a lot lower.

regards Roy

What steel front axles are being used with the stock spool. Currently I have 44.5 mm alloys and stock steel outdrives.

There's only one steel dogbone, it's 46mm. PO-SDT008
