Tamiya TRF415

Hi Jason. I think it's more the 2nd level decks than the top deck holding the chassis flat. The top deck is not very stiff and I think the benefit of countersinking that would be limited. There are also very little room you have around some of the screw holes for countersinking.

I have noticed the middecks have some play. I noticed the front deck was ofset after I built it. You could see more of a gap in relation to the bulkead and the camber mount. I centered it but I'm not sure if this would be easily tweaked.....I'll give it a try this weekend though.

From my experience the most important thing is to use the right tire compound and insert.
Now your problem is pushes wide in the middle and exit the corner. So, try this(step by step)
- use the softer spring in front
- take front anti rool bar off
- use the inner hole front shock position
(the more shock angle, the softer suspension)
- use stiffer spring in rear
- add more caster angle
- add the shim, spacer under the front suspension block to angle the front wishbone(kick up angle)
I hope this can help you

I've seen many japanese driver use that black tube in the TITC race
what is that black tube on the battery cable for?
and is it called ferrite?

Hey racers, does the 415 come with everything shown in the pics from the USA website? Aluminum rear hubs?
What about a front diff one-way, does that come with the kit? Also, does it come with a layshaft one-way?
Last but not least, does the kit come with titanium screws?

Hi Rick,
More caster will help. Try the TA04 8 degree caster blocks.
Also, you could try reducing the front up-travel, thus preventing too much weight from being transferred to the rear under acceleration.

Even very few drivers are using double upper decks. I have only seen Surikarn and Maezumi using the double. At one picture in this thread the lower of the double deck plates looks silver colour like aluminium or SSG. But from a closer look this is an optical illusion maybe caused by the digicams lightning (?). Infact itīs a slightly brighter graphite upper plate maybe from a different batch.
