I don't think it necessarily needs a single nut retainer on the rear wheels. A modified 1/12th scale rim would work nicely as well. Just so long as it comes out to the same dimensions as the Tamiya F1 rims.

A scale or nearly scale front suspension with scale rims and tires would make it ok. HPI had a F1 out that had a scale front suspension but still used 1/10th pan car wheels and that was not OK.

2. Inner hinge points on the front upper arms are hidden inside the nose of an F1 body.
Do these 2 things and Corally would have a great selling F1 car that would be legal for the majority of F1 class events If Corally does not then it will not be legal in many places and thus poor sales for them I'm afraid.

^^ That's the point exactly. Another class, to water down a class making a resurgence. Also, they will be faster, that's the beef. It's not that they aren't cool, i'm sure they are, my issue is almost EVERYONE we have racing at our track race because of the scale looks, and similar performance (we're silver can only). Start throwing cars like that in the mix, and it will wind up like the touring cars!

You wait till next meeting JR - its gunna get even bigger and better. I know of at least another 3 people desperate to join the fun and two of them already have cars.
Interesting how serious the final became after all the jokes and fun in the qualifying rounds.

found instruction for old HPI Super F1 chassis on HPI website... It seems to me that new WRC F-One uses same ideas in the rear suspension

The S100 front suspension isn't going to make it look any more scale as the mounting points are still well outside of the body. And as mentioned the wheels are terribly out of scale.
Yes the F103/F104 cars ARE pan cars...however they are scale pan cars and that was always a big part of the draw to the class. Scale is part of what is driving RC again. Look at the newer classes popping up...VTA, RCGT, Short Course Trucks, and F1...These are all scale classes and are some of the most popular classes in racing today.
