Also ordered 2 sets of a arms for the front/back and 2 sets of hubs for the front and back so in the season I dont need to place HK orders for replacement parts hehe.
cant wait to see it done! how are the ring gears working out?

setting the backlash so that the teeth dont bind too much and getting them to roll smooth was sort of a challenge (lots of testing and shimming) but I got them now to roll pretty good with minimal backlash.

I also ordered the front spool lock thingy. I forgot to order the lightened clutch, because due to my monkey work I put a nice gash in mine trying to get the pinions off...

Clegg, the 5 star alum center shaft is bad news. It is not at all durable and you will need to replace it regularly. try to get the square titanium one. Much much better and strong as the stock steel one.

this isnt a 5 star aluminum shaft, its another MFG's hardened shaft. The 5 star 2 speed shoe holder is what I ordered. Which I cant see being a big wear part.

The 5 star 2 speed holder is much lighter than the stock one. AS for the lightened center shaft, no problems in mine yet. *touch wood*

Jefferylin, where did you get the Square parts??

Thanks

I got them in HK. It's hard to find as people snag them up as soon as they come in.

I paid for mine to, also from RCModel, and It's been in the car for about a year now and still looks like new.

I got 2 RR conversion kits ordered and no notice if it will ever be in stock again, nor whether they will refund. RC-Union sends you a notice that it isn't in stock and the refund immediately- at least they did w/ me. But RCModel still has about $120 and no responses about what they are going to do. Got to email them again

Should be getting it soon, the parts I ordered came in yesterday and I ordered around the same time. You should have heard from them though.

Last few deliveries have taken up to a week longer than normal, not sure where the hold up is but it is at the HK end.
