Ok so the CRC is out, BMI will be out pretty much any day now, Speedmerchant is any day now as well...any news on other companies that are for sure stepping into the fray? I know that when this thread started there were a couple others that were signed on for this

I read about this in the GT10 discussion but it got me to thinking...
As I am of the opinion that a 235mm class and a 200mm class can coexist, do you think that a vintage Can-Am or some sort of prototype class would be workable? I know that there are still people out there that run 235 cars and I dont see why that cant be a possibility with outdoor season getting going here in the next few weeks now that the carpet nationals have been completed.

The way I see it is the 235mm Guys have always ran there 235mm cars even after most stopped the Diehards moved forward in there sport of racing.
They are diehards we went on to dirt - T/C - and what ever else was out there and the 235mm guys kept right on racing and when they couldn't find cars or parts they made them I for one would like to hear how they feel about the 200mm cars running in there field.

Well I've got both.
I ran the Corally C10X that I modified last year putting a T-Bar in it as well as doing battery slots that would fit the new cells with out the Corally battery tray. The car was pretty quick, but I really did not spend much time trying to make it quick. I just pulled it out of the bag and ran it hard.
Since I run the Darkside Mx2 in 1/12 scale, I purchased 2 I-Fource cars and am looking to put brushless lipo in the car. Right now I'm looking for a good 200mm body.
My guess (with out runninng the 200mm car) but having run against it, is the 235 6 cell should be balistic. The 200 with lipo might be lighter which may or may not be faster, but might stay better through the run. In the end a lipo saddle pack in the 235 should be almost un-driveable.
Our first outside race is the first weekend in April, and I may try and run both cars back to back with 10.5's and see what works.

Well I'm one of those die-hards as well.
Three years ago I built a car that I could convert from 235 to 200mm.
I ran both outdoors. (6 cells 12 turns was the norm then).
The wide setup was easier to drive, and easier to set up than the narrow setup.
The narrow setup didn't give up much in lap times, but it simply wasn't as easy to drive, even with all setup tricks in the book.
This was all on large outdoor facilities, suitable for 1/8th nitro.
I also ran the 200 car indoors, again with 6cells and 12 turns.
I geared the motora little short and used only a little timing on the motor to avoid making it too fast.
The top mod TC's were no match. I was even as quick or quicker than the top mod 12th scales.
I didn't even bother to improve the car's setup. It was understeering bad, but easy to drive as it was.
I think for narrow indoor tracks the 200mm 4 cell class will be a great hit.
Easy to drive, easy to set up, low costs.
On our outdoor tracks we would be falling asleep on the straight with 4 cells and 19 turns. 19 turns 6 cell is already a little on the slow side.
I think here in the netherlands we will continue running 235mm lipo mod for the next few years.
There's already a gaining interest in our class now with the introduction of the new corally car, and the anouncement that the new CRC can be converted to a wide setup.
I just hope more manuacturers will jump in and offer wide cars or conversions next to the 200 mm cars.

Hello guys! First, sorry for my english, I'm from spain...
3 days ago I have bought one RC10L. It's like new, and it comes with lot of parts. I have been thinking in the idea of taking the parts and make a new RC10L, but using carbon fiber. Then I will use to race the last one.
I have been all my life using gas cars, so, I'm a little confused when I try to search the ESC+motor+pinion+gear+battery that I need.
The circuit where I run have 300 meters, with a straight line of 90 meters. Do you think that a Mamba sidewinder 5700 + 2s lipo will be a good election ? Wich pinion and gear do you recommend to me?
In spain the 1/10th pan cars are dead. The shops don't want to sell this cars, beacause GP cars are crashing pieces continuously and the EP pan cars have a very little maintenance. They do not generate benefits. It is a shame, because for the racers it's a very economic scale.

oh, that sucks, to make a car, thats too wide for the class. Is the CRC too wide as well?
