Thomas P,

1: Yes do not use the ESC until the cap is replaced.

2: No this cannot be done by yourself. The unit will need to be sent in.

well ran a steady 3rd after chasing the car and tires all day. the lower the bite and dustier it gets, the worse i get. think its somewhat a setup prob, but also havin all this gross hp at finger tips. a 5700 being smacked by nice 4200s on low timing, 30% punch control, 120% EPA (vs 125max) and -45 rate isnt enuff (LOL).

still when pts are released/updated it might be enough to slide up into the #1 spot.

more to come

Default No power output on MambaMax ESC

To: [email protected]

Hello there!

A month ago, my MambaMax with CMS6900 suddenly not powering the motor 5 minutes before the race I checked everything from motor to esc to rx/tx but no luck. I mount the motor to my friend's MambaMax ESC and confirmed that the motor is working perfectly. The MambaMax ESC is heating rapidly and also the wires connecting the battery. I also double-checked my battery on other system and again confirmed it's all working well.

I went home so sad. I re-flashed my MambaMax ESC and it's all working well.

Yesterday, same thing happened..... All sorts of testing/isolating leads again to MambaMax ESC.

Last night I re-flashed my MambaMax ESC and no matter what I do, "IT'S NOT WORKING ANYMORE".

This is my first Brushless System. I have chosen this system in my belief it is better than the competition.

PLEASE HELP.

System:

Mamba Max with CMS6900 combo (bought March 2007 from www.b-p-p.com)
Peakracing carbon edition 3200mAh Lipo

cant wait for the 4600 to come in. as the track continues to lose grip and get slippier, the worse off i am. i have the 5700 toned down as much as possible w/o fiddlin w/endpts and its still too much if u miss the tire combo by just a touch.

might get to point where 17Ts or bl equiv are the ticket. if castle made a motor 1 rating under the 4600 i'd take it w/o question. it'd also help me on my tire bill which is outta control

I took a risk. I bought the Novak 13.5SS and wired it up to my Mamba Max. I raced it. And I won!

It sucks, and sucks hard, from a dead stop. Using lots of throttle, the car just sits there rocking back and forth, making painful noises. The key seems to be using just a touch of throttle to launch it, though that still takes a full second.

Anyhoo, it works, so the risk paid off; the 13.5SS is bloody fast.

They do work but not perfectly so that is why Castle don't promote using them yet until they have the new software update. I know its been awhile but this is a very hard thing to do. Not the only company having problems with running sensored motors with sensorless speedos. It is a very time consuming process. But for now at least it works enough for you to use it.

What type of car did you run it in? Did it only hesitate on startup?

wyd, the car was a T2 007 on rubber/asphalt. It only hesitated on startup.

Do you think that changing the start-off power or adjusting timing will have effect on the initial start of the motor? Has anyone tried yet?

Tried it with the Ex13.5 and the bonded arm didn't like that dead stop start...

Now when connected to a Novak esc the motor was bogging at start. I beleive the arm is now weak

So Just use it with the sintered arm...
