Just ordered a V3.1 and looking forward to getting it. In the mean time, does anyone know if the temperture log and motor overheat protection fits with an Novak Vulcan 17.5T or a Revtech stock spec 17.5T ?

Does the V3.1 work with the 2 in 1 Professional Programmer? When I connect the car, programmer and PC, the ESC isn't being recognized.

I'm pretty sure it should work. You just need to update the programmer to the right version. The latest version of the HW software makes this a little easier (so I'm told).

The Version on my Program box says V1.11_120331_V3.

I can connect to the box through the USB Link, which is how I updated the firmware, but when I hook it all up to the ESC, nothing.

I know this sounds silly, but I've done it. Are you sure you're plugging the receiver plugs in correctly in the box and the esc?

Thanks, that wasn't it. I was connecting the ESC via the receiver plug instead of the out slot on the ESC.

Has anyone had a V3 / 3.1 shut down for no reason ?

Yesterday I had a club meeting, racing 21.5 boosted with a new HW 3.1. I copied the existing settings from my V3 to the 3.1, and I know the motor & ESC were never run too hot (the ambient temp was about 8 degrees C max. during the day).

The V3.1 worked perfectly for the 2 qualies and the first two finals. In the last final, I got on the driver's stand and did my warm up lap as usual. There's a tight corner before the main straight where I tap the brakes before the entry of the corner. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the car stopped dead. No steering, no throttle, nothing. I call out to the marshall to retrieve my car, and when I inspect it, I hear the cooling fan (hardwired straight to the ESC) still running, but the ESC has shut off. My final was starting in 20 seconds, so I switch the ESC on, race up the driver's stand and rush to the starting grid just in time. The buzzer sounds, the race is on, and the ESC seems to be working normally, but when I get to the same corner again where I tap the brakes, exactly the same thing happens and the ESC shuts down. I pulled my car off as I didn't trust it anymore. Did not manage to complete one lap in the last final.

I got home, did a re-bind on my M12 transmitter, set the LVC on the V3.1 ESC to "off" (it was set to 3.2V) and all seemed to be ok, but I can't be certain until I get it to the track again.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Anybody have Shipping issues with Hobbywing NA? I just recieved my order and I have a "Blue 11.5t" motor (Don't want) in a "Gray 17.5t" Box (what I ordered). Everything else is right but the motor thing is bad. Anybody else have any dealing with them over minor screw ups?

Nevermind they just emailed me back and are sending me the 17.5t today. Customer service is excellent.

Yea, that wouldnt be on HWNA's shoulders, thats all Hobbywing directly and they ship here to the US so thats pry how they received it and just shipped what the box and UPC label said it was...

But glad it all got straightened out...Their customer service dropped off for bit awhile back but they are back to awesome CS and still swear by HW and HWNA

Blinky zero timing you must load the program from the usb link software. You must also run a two cell on the esc to power up the 1s only the sd version you bought and a capacitor bank must be used.

I've never had any problems with Hobbywing NA. Always super fast shipping and products always get here exactly as ordered.

I'm thinking about putting in an order for those new v10 motors. Looks like the 17.5 comes stock with a 12.5 rotor, right Cobra?
