The new chassis is 1mm thicker, making it less flexable then the other one. The car is more stable, but has a bit less steering.

I doubt any locking brake system can be more efficient than ABS. if some people don't know how to adjust or setup then it is different story. (little or nothing is found on how to properly setup ABS on RC cars)
If you don't set an ABS properly it will for sure behave worse than a locking brake.
When you say: 'other looses the feeling in the brake as he has no control over it' .
It obviosuly sounds like he doesn't know how to adjust the brakes. I find it impossible not to feel or loose control over it. ABS will not provent you from skidding, crashing or flying off the corner but will just give you a much more consistent and balanced braking power in shorter distances.
If you talk about driving style I understand, some people like a more agressive feeling of the locking brake but not true saying a better braking power.

Where I live it is always raining so the track is always humid or wet in some parts, there is no way to go without ABS and as you said it will definitely shave some time off your lap and that's all we want.
Although I have burnt few servos using ABS the fastest Sanwas and Ko Propos will survive very long time, specially with Ko Propos for an extra long life just change the A gear (fuse gear) from original plastic to metal and forget it.

Most Tx's don't have ABS though

I ve never seen a TX with pre-set ABS, you always have to switch on and off.
For off road for instance you dont wanna have ABS so the Tx could not come with pre-set ABS, even the cheapest Tx with ABS I know of from Hobby King you can switch on and off any time

Usually the function can be activated with any programmable button on your Tx, I use Airtronics M11 and M12 and both are fully adjustable in the way they are applied and can be switched on and off anytime during racing. I am sure Futabas are the same way.

Everything starts with the mechanical adjust of your brake, so make sure the car is breaking strong and even locking when you apply full brake at high speed, with this done go to the transmitter and adjust:
1. Point 90%
2. Stroke 80%
3. Lag 0.0 sec
4. Speed -3
If your track is cold or wet try Speed -4 or -5
If the car is still locking the wheels decrease the 1. Point
If the car is braking in long distance increase 2. Stroke and a little bit 1. Point
Keep trying something around the 1 and 2 but don't go too far from -3 to -5 in the point 4. Speed

Is there a 15 tooth pinion gear that fits the Marx clutch bell? Say a serpent gear maybe. Thanks
