I would still mount it on the left side. The servo sits towards the right and with the weight of the receiver on the right side it should keep the car fairly balanced. I would take that fan and heatsink off that sphere TC and stand it up on it's side. The fan and heatsink aren't really necessary, unless you're running a low wind modified outside. Your speedo shouldn't get very warm at all.
anybody else doing it like this as well?
i dont have the sphere in hand to look at it.but is it a hard task to take the fan off?
looks like i will be running the orion vortex 13.5..

you pretty much need to mount any brushless esc on the right side. You will need to add weight to the left side to get it balanced left/right. If you mount it on the left side you have all the wires from the esc on that side as well instead of going across the chassis if it was on the right side. Also, since the belt is on the left side you can get the esc closer to the center with it being on the right side.

how much weight you adding to compinsate for the rx?

When I ran the GTB, I placed it on the right and extend the caps wire to have it mounted on the left with the receiver. Took off the fan and didn't need much more weight to be well balanced.
I mount the mamba on the left as the belt go below the "circuit board".

Just ran my Type R for the first time today and it was awesome! I set TQ with a new track record and went on to win the main as well. However in practice I managed to absolutely shatter both my thrust bearings. I literally turned them both to sand. Has this happened to anybody before?

I was going to use one of these two setups when I was building my Type R and it doesn't indicate whether to use any kick or squat with the suspension mounts. Are the hinge pins to be level front to back?

Can anybody provide me with a part number for the "tall" ballstuds that are used in the rear hubs and for the front kingpin?
What is the difference in height between the tall and standard ballstud?
