Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but most of the major stores in Japan are expecting to get the RB6 in store by mid September and they will be 30800yen. With currency conversion, thats roughly $400 USD.

Not sure how much a kit would cost to send by EMS from Japan, but even if its $60, it will be cheaper to get from JP than US for us Aussies.

I spoke with him yesterday for a while and he was happy with the car, said it was very smooth and stable. He mentioned that you don't have to drive the rb6 as hard as the rb5 to stay on pace which is great as this was my major complaint with the rb5....Unfortunately, I didn't get to see it on the track, but he did let me look at it and explained a few things on the car. To be honest, it is the best looking 2 wheel I've seen in both design and parts quality, and I've owned them all. Looking forward to its release.
Definitely a good start, hope he can take the win.

Wow.. that's like a 30% off if the MSRP is 44100 yen.

I hope the parts have the same discount, so that I can upgrade my RB5 for less.

I was at west coast all day yesterday and got to watch all the big boys run a full day of qualifiers. Great racing all around. I was able to sit and talk with tebo for a little bit (a very nice and very approachable guy, btw) and I was asking about some of the differences between the 5 and the 6, and while he admitted that he didn't have much time on the car, he did say that was more stable due to the longer wheelbase, but also was a bit more responsive due to the chassis. I got to hold it a bit in the pits and get close look... And I have to say, the photos we've seen so far don't do the car any justice... It's straight up gorgeous. Tebo was running the production steering rack, and it was plastic.

Yeah, I went and added all the parts needed to convert a RB5 to the RB6. If you include things like body, wing, decals and all the parts to make the change, it was $343 plus shipping.

Interesting - it looks like he's running a low profile servo. I'll have to ask about that.

Would this be the RSx one10 (which I'm not sure will fit in the RB5 as the 2413 definately does not! )?

Yup that's the one10. I use it in 4WD for it's size/weight/balance left to right. Almost 15g lighter than other RSx servos. I guess the RB6 likes to be light up front.

As for the RB5, the one10 has the same profile as a standard servo, just shorter, so it'll fit just fine.

Car looks better in person. What a cool guy. I got to talk to him about it last night. He really likes it. Said he does not have to drive it as hard. He did state that he was still working on the rear end of the car. Not yet happy with it.

Car not yet dialed and qualified 2nd place. Ummm could be give Cav a run for his money in the mains?

Hopefully Jeff at SpeedtechRC will create his own upgrade kit and do a nice price reduction on it like he always seems to do...
