There are so many good ideas out there.
Here's may FGX F1.Starting our F1 series down under next week in melbourne, I'm doing a write up of build and will start with the stock chassis then move onto the EXOTEC upgrade.I have also done some strenghting to the stock car, my write up is here, http://www.rcformula1.com.au/index.p...led-guide-pt-2
part 2 has some pirated photo's from Bill Delongs page as my camera broke, THANKS BILL : ) but the rest are from me.

There are two problematic areas with the FGX the front arms and the upper deck are fragile. There are a couple of fixes for the front arms, reinforce with shoe goo and piano wire, or replace the arms with Exotek top and reinforce the lowers with the Exotek brace.
The fix for the top brace is to reinforce it as shown in this thread by filling it or using a strap. There are no after market top braces per se. You have to use the complete conversion kits from Exotek or Rabit.
I hope this hasn't changed you decision. the cost the convert the above is very reasonable. See SpeedtechRC they have the Exotek updated parts.
I have the Exotek conversion and highly recommend it.
I hope this helps

Hi Marcus, what battery is that (brand/capacity) and how many minutes runtime? Thanks.

Will the official IFS be an add on or a whole new kit?
Just wondering if there is any reason to wait on buying the car

so i'm getting to the end of the build of my FGX .. getting all electronics in now and to tell the truth, i have no idea where to put it all ...
here's a few attached pictures. i've been looking at how other FGX owners have crammed all the components under the hood but most chasis look heavily modified which i'm not up to doing just yet.
factory chasis set up. Yeah Racing 35A ESC w/ YR 10T motor, Bluebird lopro Hi-speed servo, Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver and 7.4V Lipo ...........

@NewWestF1:
It is tight, no doubt. My FGX is setup just like yours save that I put the receiver (also a Spektrum) on it's side behind the servo. The RX is taped to the bottom deck and it _just_ fits under the top deck a little.
