The Speed Passion Thread

Alright. I will try a ratio around 9 to 1.
I didn't setup the Speed Passion as my LHS is out of the configure device. One of my friends set it up and he is running the latest software.
The timing on motor is 5 degrees. I am not running any boost.

Is it mad to run full boost and turbo settings in MOD with a 2.0 speedy and 4.5t motor? (119_mod Software)
boost: 16
turbo: 20
Slope; 24/.01
Thanks,
Steve

Gearing 8.0
SPv3 4.5
DRRS lvl 2
boost 35
turbo slope 6
turbo 26
start rpm 15000
turbo delay 0.3
timing acc 750
I was running a cooler on my speedo and a heat sink on my motor with 2 lrg fans on it , motor was 70 YES 70 degreesC and speedo was 60
Toni Rhienard set this up for me , and the brakes were AMAZING even at 60% on my transmitter and 87.5 in the speedo
be carefull you may crash at the end of the straight with laughing so hard at how fast it goes .
As a worlds driver said to me as i RIPPED passed him down the straight "F@#k me phil whats in that !!!!!!!!"

What soft ware were you using, what drag brake and initial brake force settings.

For a 120ft straight, gearing between 6.8 and 7.4 FDR (depending on track / motor combo / ESC settings) is the typical range.
If your temps are coming off at 120F, you can try the following:
45 Boost
18 Turbo
0.1 delay
2 ramp (you can try 1 if the motor temps stay low to see if it likes the timing sooner)
16K for the end RPM, and somewhere between 3000-4000 for the start.
Start at 7.2FDR and see how it responds.
On another note, the option timing boards the Speed Passion sells really wakes up these motors for 1/10th TC use. I am running a 30 degree board (set to 24 degrees) and it really helped get more rip out of the corners due to the mechanical timing advance.
Let us know how those settings work out. Remember to check the motor temps after a couple minutes with the new settings.
EDIT: Just noted that you were 13.5, not 17.5 which is what the settings above are for...... Gearing more like 7.4 - 7.8 FDR for 13.5
45 Boost
18 Turbo
0.1 delay
2 ramp (you can try 1 if the motor temps stay low to see if it likes the timing sooner)
19K for the end RPM, and somewhere between 4000-4500 for the start.
Sorry about that.
Jimmy

Assuming the Tekin timing #'s correlate to the Speed Passion ESC #'s, then you are pretty close to the setups we run here.
