ran a friends xb4 tonight. It is not a super forgiving car, but is very fast when it is good. But man you have to keep an eye on the lawn darting. It reminds of a touring car the way it drives. The d413 felt more like an 8th scale. completely different feeling cars.

What kind of grease do you guys use for your CVAs? Is there really a noticeable difference between the manufactures besides price?

That is interesting. Do you know if he had the center diff or the slipper installed?
I ran mine for the first time last weekend and it felt just as stable as my ebuggy on our local track.

I let someone drive my xb4'15 that used to drive for Associated years ago and he thought the buggy was amazing. I did have it setup to one of the Xray driver's setup specs, but my friend drove around that track very fast with total control and that was with the slipper, maybe it was setup?

Is anyone having problems with braking their front drive shafts ? (365220)
They seem to brake in the outer part.
I have replaced both left and right one time and now it braked again.

Track was a carpet track with really good traction.

Heard one guy talking about using a HB D413 drive shaft... i dont like that idea

Yup broke a cpl myself . Too much plunge. You need external and internal shock limiters . And change your pills to the outside positions. Sux your options are limited but it beats 35bux for outdrives.

Whoops my bad i broke outdrives. Not axles.

Ya, there is a bit of lawn dartiness with the Xray. The buggy does force one to down side jumps more deliberately than with some other buggies I have found.

Dont get me wrong, it is not that I disliked the xb4. It definitely has a low CG. I assume this is because it was designed for high bite astro and carpet. I was running on high bite clay with slicks, so that was fine. I could drive the car really hard into corners and not worry about traction rolling. My comment was that it just feels more like a touring car than an 8th scale. I disliked my d413 for a few reasons. cheap plastics and not a fun car to work on. But the d413 really soaks up the track, but it is also more prone to traction rolling, maybe because of the tons of droop. My friend that owned the x4b commented about changing the diff oils because the cars felt darty with m4 slicks. I had to lower my dual rates to 70% and only sauce the rear tires to make it drivable for me. Once I did that, the car was much better. I did have a couple incidents with the walls, lol. Nothing the first time and the second time the entire link came off, I had to go find it on the track. car seemed pretty durable. I think I hit a pipe nail a couple times too.

these look ideal what front and rear would be required for losi wheels

I think I read a few pages back that the 0mm offset would work best for Losi wheels but I'm not 100% positive though.

Yea, there is a single going into a corner at our track and if I don't hit it just right the front end will dig into the ground.
