When I started RC racing only the radios, motor and batteries weren't American. Now my XXX-4 is the only American-made car I have (or at least it's the only car I have with non-metric hardware).

I really don't care what people say about where the products I buy are made, especially if they weren't with me during Desert Storm and SFOR.

Here is what Hobby King says to sell their $1.99 T-Shirts:

Strike fear into the hearts of store owners by wearing this 100% cotton topic of conversation to your local hobby store & watch their attitudes change as you proudly wear your battle dress whilst perusing the shelves of overpriced locally priced merchandise.
Prepare to be loved or hated at your next R/C convention or meet-up.

The iconic HobbyKing.com trademark is an internationally renowned logo, a beacon un to others as to the true king of R/C, the consumer! This shirt is a reminder that no distributor, store, vendor or manufacturer can compete with the collective voice of the astute hobby customer.
Man, I thought you were joking when you posted this about the T-Shirts...

but it DOES say exactly that on their website! And at the very bottom, it says: This T-Shirt guarantees* the wearer will be impervious to overpriced goods for a period of 6 months.

Available in M, L, XL, XXL sizes.

*Guarantee not guaranteed."

I chuckled.

Anyhoo, on to a much more important subject...

Are we, seriously, EVAR going to see the Sun again?

ARRGHH!!!

We will see the sun at The Hill TOMORROW!!!

Sorry, as much as we want to buy made in the U.S.A. stuff, it is not gonna happen. The best thing I guess we can do is buy from the retailers at least that employs somebody in the U.S.A.

Ya just gotta find the small businesses that don't over charge. Usually its the ones that are NOT in the magazines as that type of adv. is overpriced.

I look at a few companies and see what they produce and the quality and they keep the prices down...like Pro-Line tires, Turtle Racing etc are made in the U.S.A.

mmm...something smells funny....mmmm....

Well, you all missed about one of the most beautiful RC days in a long time. The only thing that would have made it better, was more people.

I'll be there also, but not sure for how long.

I finally get a break from the family for a little while.

Or, maybe not

I'll be up there today (Sunday), but only to give Robert some items I told him I'd give him...

I went to Yomitan's track yesterday to get a shakedown run with the Tekin RS ESC on my EVO 5 MS. It had crazy top speed, but wasn't all that smooth. I fiddled with the settings and smoothed it out quite a bit, but could never get the punch I wanted. I tried may pinion combos, etc, and still, I felt like the infield power was lacking.

I only got the change ESC settings 3 times, before my laptop battery drained (I made the mistake of leavign it on the whole time).

So needless to say, I won't be racing on-road today. I need way more time to set up this ESC. It didn't help that I wasn't on a proper set of tires also, so that's why my results may have been skewed. The future of this ESC doesn look promising though, I just need more tuning time.

Finally got my Mini-Z together and did some testing at RC Paradise. Results were very good. I got within .1 of the record time for a MR-03 chassis, and that was only the first test with not even my fastest batteries. The new track layout is awesome also. I like it much better.

Anyhoo, I'll see you at The Hill for a little bit today...
