I have just got a second hand 109 with all of the standard mods. Took it out for a spin and it goes fine, but has a LOT of steering. I was going to put some harder front springs in, and realised I have a few sets of CRC Pro-strut front ends ready to go for my pan car.
Has anyone tried using the CRC front (steering hub, king pin, and pivot ball)?
The dimensions aren't exact, looks a little narrower, but it does mean I could use my 1/10 pan car front wheels, and all of my existing parts.

Yeah, thanks, i've done that. If I reduce the limit any more, I won't make the hair-pins, i'm 3/4 track width at low speed as it is.
The question was more about the CRC parts. I already have them, so may have a play around with it over the next few weeks and see how it comes out.

what I wanted to say was more like why to mess with the car when it handles great without any tuning. All you need are proper tires and sometimes radio settings. Depending on track layout all i need is to switch between 35shore front/30rear, or 35front 25 rear + bit of EXP on the radio. The only two options on my car I have are harder (gold and silver depending on the track) side springs and some harder shock spring i found in my toolbox.

It was out of curiosity more than anything. That and the CRC parts are a lot better asembled, and ride height would be adjustable.
We race on outdoor asphalt, unprepared track, no tire additive allowed. Even with silver can the car can get squirelly.

they are very hard to get this year especially in 25shore. I got them for this season at rcchamp. with bit of help from google translate I got all the Part numbers I needed from their Japanese website and then went through their standard international ordering process. - they send you a spreadsheet, you fill it in, get it back with prices, pay by paypal and get the stuff in few days as they use EMS for shipping.

Center Damper Failure
After racing in the weekend i have had my center damper Fall out of its mounting twice. Quite annoyed and wondered if anyone else has had this????
Am going to use bigger washers to hold the damper in place. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how did you fix it?????

I'm goingn to be picking up a 109 soon for my first f-1 car. I am a little worried about parts availability. What spare parts do you think I should get with it?
Also, are there standard wheels for f-1? It kind of sounds like there isn't. Where should I be looking for wheels and tires? I have never had a foam tired car before.
I'll be running it on a parking lot track in the spring, any tips would be welcome

Hi guys. Am planning to get one of this for X'mas. I'm very much a newbie and currently playing with an M05 and an ABC Naked RR using a Futaba 2PL AM radio. Will the Futaba suffice or a higher end radio with EXPO the better choice for F1? I know a good radio is always a good upgrade path but will it definitely increase the controllability of an F1 enough to justify it's cost or will I just stick to my current TX until I get better at it? Thanks.
