Unfortunatley the caliber of our drivers and the construction of our track (basically 2x4s screwed together) staying away from the bashers just won't do it.
We are all just starting into onroad, we found a carpeted empty bay and run a Tueday night points race. We have tons of fun other than the breaking.
There are about 12 of us and and the majority run XXX-S's this way we can share parts. But we can't keep enough arms, carriers and c-hubs around. Every week we have a collection of broken parts. A couple guys are doing the foam thing and it seems to be working pretty good, I just thought you guys might have some other suggestions.

Are you using a buds bumper? That alone has saved a TON of front end parts for me.

Here are the side foams mentioned. And now that I see what a Buds bumper is I realized that I got them on one of my XXX-S's I got off ebay and took them off, I will have to get them back on if they are that good.

No we are mostly using foams, this peticular (stubborn) racer refused to switch untill last week claiming that the rubber worked better. These pecticular tires actually did work pretty good but not as good as foams. When he would gun the throttle off the line the front tires would actually come off the ground 
not good for racing but it looked cool.

that would be kick ass to have a lil place to run at work.
i saw a laptop in that first picture, do you have a lap counting system?
on weekends here at work, one time my buddy came in with his rc18t with a mamba brushless. we ran it in the hallway a bit on the carpet and got bored with that, then went to the warehouse, and the floor was cool for drifting but got bored with that, then we noticed that the conveyer belt(6ft wide, by about 120ft long with a large dump station at the end) is a rubber coated cloth. perfect traction, and the large dump station was awesome for some huge air. i stood about 10 ft behind the belt and he would lauch that lil car about 15 ft up and 20 feet back, i only droped it once lol, i wish i woulda had a camera, im sure its on the security cameras tho lol

Not at my work, my office is about 800sq ft. We are fortunate enough to have a property owner that is an associate of the club. This bay used to be a company that sold sewing machines, it has been empty for well over 2 years. It is still being shown to potential renters so we have to pack it up very week and who knows, we may be out a track one day but for now we are enjoying it. I thnk we have had a total of 10 meets which consist of 3 heats and a main.
Yep that is a lap counter, not sure how we would race without one, it is also used for offroad during the summer.

how much do ceramic bearings help this car and how long will they last and how much will they take and any other secrets to free up the drivetrain and how to take the slop out of the steering.

I just purchased a replacement chassis for one of my XXX-S Graphite Plus cars and need to tap 4-40 threads into it for the diff cover screws.
Both of my chassis are pretty well stripped out in those holes on both ends.
I understand that all 4-40 taps are not alike. Some are tight and some not so. Not sure what I actually have; but, I would have to call the new tapped holes on the "loose" side. Have used both stainless steel and titanium screws which may lead to that loose feeling.
I also know about using CA in these holes to entend their useful life. Have been doing that since the problem developed.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to do this so the threads in the graphite chassis stay intact for as long as possible? Thanks.
