Hey evo13, im taking my time with the tundra just finished assembling the shiftable 3 speed , interesting seeing shift forks in these little transmissions but I will post pics as it progresses
just finished installing some aluminum hubs all around on the micro , its incredibly fun to drift around very addicting
Viperz , the stance pics are looking great , for the gt2 m3 I think the combo I like best is 7mm offset in the front and 11mm in the rear., makes it sit flush.
On another note a trip to the hobbyshop revealed a nice surprise , one of the customers left a nice mini cooper fwd for sale , at first thought it was a tamiya m series , after I took off the cover to my surprise found a T.O.P racing mini FD , very nice chassis., maybe 1 race on it tekin rs in it and 10.5t ., he was asking 250 , should I go for it ? Only downfall is the front wheel drive ., what do u guys think ?

Evo13 any updates on your supercar sls? I'm loving the paint scheme , looks like it has a carbon fiber hardtop,. Looking forward to your test runs , what speeds do u plan on hitting ?

Hey M,

I'm just waiting for some free time to take her out for some runs. It is indeed a carbon fiber hard top designed to give the rag top look. I'm glad you dig the paint scheme. It didn't quite come out the way I envisioned it at the out start, I believe Benzes with rag tops should have a more classic elegant look. So I'm going to do another SLS with a beige top with a solid deep body color.

Regarding speeds, If I can hit 100mph under control that would be a success. I think its possible because I ran the BMW e92 at some pretty high speeds and it went straight as an arrow, but this car should be much faster due to the stronger motor, taller gearing and a "lighter" 6s vs 4s in the BMW.

Check this video out:

My hypothesis is that if this guy was able to hit 104mph with the same motor on 6s, and I would imagine similar gearing in a much heavier 1/8 ofna, my SLS should at least crack 110mph...we shall see.

Evo13.
The white with the black accents make the sls look elegant and sporty , the carbon top adds to the supercar theme , definitely like it ., and regarding speed I'm sure you'll be in the 100mph range, you've built quite the speed demon there, cant wait to see your test runs and the other sls in the works.

^^^ That Merc I can dig!

M, that's a nice Tundra kit! Can't say on the T.O.P. kit, but I suppose being FWD, it could be very authentic in feeling and reaction for the the intended body.

Thats an interesting SLS, when I was doing my research on the SLS, I saw a review of this hybrid edition. Its the most powerful SLS but you only get something like 40 minutes of run time in it before you have to stop and charge the batteries again. Thats insane for a super car.

I think there was a 1/12th version of that body back in the early 80s.

That's a sweet find!! I've been thinking of adding a Tamiya E30 M3 Jagermeister, but this looks like a must have too!

ViperZ, after watching this thread for a few weeks now, your beautiful pictures finally enticed me to jump on a TC 6.2 in great condition. I'll direct all spousal complaints your way.

I won some custom pre-painted bodies on ebay for a steal of a price!! Generally I like to paint my own, but at the cost of these painted and shipped, I couldn't pay myself to do it any better or cheaper. I almost feel bad as there was no reserve on the bids

It was raining this morning so I decided to rewire the TC6.1 for some color, from the plain black.

This is a family portrait I took last week. I would like to do this for my RC airplanes as well, but I don;t have a big enough space
