If I'm making the right assumptions...a decent indoor track (WCRC, OCRC...) traction would be considered medium to high traction? Why aren't more people building there RB6 with mid config? I just finished building mine rear motor but sounds like mid has nicer handling. I was originally under the impression that mid was favorable only for carpet.

the track originally bought the 6 to run on had unreal traction. The tire of choie there were slicks. This would be a good setup for that I would think.

that's funny because that is how my Xfactory felt on high traction track. It was like I had to learn how to drive it all over again. I met the pipe a number of times the first couple practice laps. I've been contemplating putting an X6 together with k BB for fun, but no high bite tracks around these parts! And if you guys think that WCRC is medium traction... then we must race on ice...

For whatever reasons the mid motor works really well for me even on my local track that has low traction most of the time . as far as being loose i have to push it really hard to break it loose and even at that it corrects fast you no longer have the rear motor whip in the corners . i will be keeping the mid setup . if i go to a different track i'll just tweak it some one way or another . the only way to have a car that handles well is one that is balanced evenly for the best corner speed . i think with this new platform for Kyosho gone are the days of thinking rear is better in my opinion . it suits my driving style as i raced touring cars for 15 years this car is as close to a touring car handling .

i would ask that you guys watch fastestwon's previous vids, his car was sliding in remotor and i think he only had a 17.5 in w/timing...
that last vid of his mid car was on rails... i think the whole "mid motor for astro only" concept is false to begin with because i've owned an Xfactory car and ran indoors on dirt/clay.. but if you've never run it, don't knock it

Wondered how long it would take to figure that out.

For those that haven't driven rear motor, they react much differently to wheelspin. His car did look a lot better in that vid, but midmotor cars are much less likely to have the rear step out once you overpower the rear. Going to MM worked for him, but I'd recommend you all try it and see how it works on your surfaces.
I ran a Cougar for some time, and loved the way it cornered. Nothing could touch it going into the corner, or coming out. However, on my home track which has a tendency to get a bit dusty, I couldn't put the power down in between the corners. That said, I have seen Xfactory cars do very well here.
