Ok, So I installed my new "drag link" and here are some pics and explanations.

First You need to remove the upper hinge pin bracket.

Once off, you can just pull the bell cranks off and the old wire!!

I just rotated the arm to gain access to the under side of where the wire used to go thru. And installed the ball stud with spacers.

You should have these spacers in with the new body clips that came with the truck. I used all (4) of them one thick and one thin per side and they were just shy of 4mm thick.

When assembling the ball cups onto the turnbuckle, just screw the ball cup up to the end of the threads.

Tried to get a good picture of it installed.

After you get the ball studs installed reassemble everything....now would be a good time to replace the bell crank bushings with bearings. Then once assembled snap the new drag link in place and enjoy.

Default All done...

Finally got the body back from Darkside Designs... Raced it last Sunday and had a great time getting bounced around with the 1/8e buggies!

The Tekin RS Pro with 6.5t (540) motor was perfect. Motor temp'd at 144*F after 7 minutes and I had a very useable power delivery on the indoor/clay track. The new ackerman bar is a great improvement over stock and is the best bang for your buck. Debating to add the graphite shock towers & center brace? For now though, it is definitely a fun alternative to my 1/10 scale 2wd & 4wd buggies!

Thanks for keeping this thread full of useful info!

NICE BODY!!!

What was your pinion tooth count??? I have the Tekin Redline 6.5 and will be using a Speed Passion GT 2.0 Pro for the ESC. Are you using the stock rotor in the motor or a 13mm??

Default Pinion...

I used the STRC 42T Delrin spur gear with a 12t pinion. I also added an AE FT aluminum heatsink with some air vent holes in the body (Front & Rear windshield), to help keep temps down... I have pretty conservative esc settings and even when I got aggressive with the timing/boost, it still never got over 150*F... Cheers!

Default Chassis skids?

Has anyone found a rear chassis skid? I have around 40 packs through the truck and the rear of the chassis is showing alot of wear. The front is showing some wear but, the rear is wearing like an 8th scale.

It's the offset on these wheels that everyone is posting that is not known.

over 50 pages and i still dont know what combo i want to put in this little truck..was thinking mmp so i can utilize some 3s packs i have..no idea what motor to get since ive been running strictly nitro..

mostly going to race it though..what are the majority of people using? mostly for a high bite small - med size track. also want enough motor to mess around on some 1/8 tracks when summer rolls around again. rather go bigger and tune it down, in case i decide to use the system in something else 4x4. ie. b44.1

thanks for any input..
