rockdog, you can get one at a hobby shop for like 60-75 dollars. which is rediculous. i would get it off another buddy from your local track. or from ebay maybe.

I have got a TC3 RTR,,,,I have fitted the Blue Alloy Threaded Shocks to it but kept the stock springs on there (Silver and Gold) with 40wt oil....
I race indoors on carpet but am having real problems with understeer,,, it wont hold its line in a corner unless I come right off the power..
The back doesnt step out or anything its just the front end thats got hardly any grip....
I am not running any anti roll bars or anything but I have got a full set of different colour springs coming,,,, I am also using CS-22's which most of the lads are where I race and they have no problems and we all use the same tyre traction liquid too
I would be grateful for any help and advice..

On a high-traction surface, you may want to use firmer springs. I use the red springs on all 4 corners, and although not carpet, I run on very high traction asphalt. I would suggest checking your servo saver mechanism (hole through the bottom of chassis that can tighten the screw/spring tension to the steering linkage) to make sure it has not backed out. I found this to be a problem with mine. There are good setups that might help you here:

The differential settings can make a huge difference too, so play with them a little. Go tighter on the front, less in back and see what happens. I use a one-way now, but did have the car handling well with the diffs before changing.
Check your droop settings, as this is where you can make significant changes to the handling of your car. Compare them with the setups on the link. If you dont have a droop tool, get one of the Team Associated parts for less than $8.00..... its a must have!

Just picked up a used one-way for my TC3, but on trying to fit, it appears to be too wide. When I fit the bearings and try to slide it in the housing the bearings sit wide of the grooves in the housing.
I'm thinking maybe I've got the wrong part. Any clues?

You have to change your springs. I had the same thing, a TC3 RTR and the springs it came with. Those are fine for running it out in front of your house but anything else you need to get springs.
I used Mike Blackstocks carpet set up for the "Birds"

I used this as a "starting point". But just changing out the oil and springs as made a world of difference.

Can the differential of the tc4 be used on the tc3? My rear long hub of my differential in my tc3 broke. It's harder to find tc3 parts these days so I need to know if the tc4's parts can be used. Thanks.

TC4 diff parts fit the TC3 im using the lightweight steel TC4 diff halves there great

associated's own TC4 lightweight steel diffs there the same size diameter they are a slighty different design in as they are not all flat they have small groves cut out maybe to save weight? Part number AS31062 heres a pic i got em front and rear with the TC3 gears and there perfect

All you touring car guys - I just rebuilt my shocks with the new Associated VCS shock upgrade kit - the bladders have arrived - best shock design improvement by Team Associated yet - this makes a world class touring car shock. Team AE does it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#31123 VCS shock upgrage kit $16.99 - If I were you I would spend the $16.99 and upgrade them now - you will be glad you did - it sort of like going from bushings to ceramic bearings...

Well it rebuilds the Associated VCS shock with bladders with no need for bleeding the shock - the build on all shocks is very consistent ( I've built 8 shocks so far) and they all are very smooth - an automatic perfect build.
