Hi Everyone,
I am looking at picking up a v1 roller that is currently setup in a rear motor configuration. I plan to do some carpet racing this winter and would like 3MM or 4MM setup. I am wondering what parts are needed to go from a rear motor configuration to a mid motor configuration? Are these parts still available? Are v1/v2 parts for the most part inter changeable?
Also what spare parts should I have on hand for racing a v1?

thanks for the reply, I'll probably get the v1 just in case. Now i'm working on an electronic setup... any ideas?
Im probably gonna go with these from hobbypartz because i'm on a strict 350$ budget.

The justock is really limited to a 13.5T motor in an off-road car. It'll go down to an 8.5T in a light pan car. I've got a justock in my vintage JRX2 with a 13.5T. It's a nice running setup. I've got a hobbywing V2 60a on an 8.5T in my 210. It gets a little hot.

So your saying that I need an different esc then right?
What servo would you recommend for like 20$ or so? Also, which motor... or do you know anything about the flash motor?
How bout this esc....
HobbyWing eZRun-60A-SL Brushless ESC for 1/10 Car (Version 2)

I run that esc in my 210. I wouldn't go lower than an 8.5T with it but it's great for the price. For a good budget servo the Solar D770 is very nice and its only $18! I have a Flysky GT3B running my vintage cars while an Airtronics runs my 210 and B44. I honestly don't see an advantage with the Airtronics although I do like the way that it feels better. Others at the track hate it when you show up with a Flysky though since their crappy, overpriced Spektrum products all seem to glitch out around them!

Thanks... how bout the motors... both come in 8.5t sensored setups.... any thoughts on those?

Since your on a strict budget and I use to know how it was racing on that kind of budget for sure, if you want a just stock esc just paypal me the shipping and it's yours. Also have a 17.5 motor if you want it. Offer is only for you. Send me a pm
I have XERun motors in 13.5, 17.5, and 21.5. All are good performers for the money but I'm not as attached to them as I am the esc's. I've got a Revtech that I really like too. I know many people are very opinionated on what the best motor out there is but I don't find much of an advantage among most of them anymore. This isn't 1987. Lately I've thought about picking up a Trinity and a Reedy. I also spend no time at all playing with timing. Others focus mostly on it. If your car is setup like crap, more speed isn't going to help you.

thanks tony, but i think im gonna pass on the esc, i want something i can grow into if needed... i.e. running mod class and like the other guys said i cant do that with the just stock esc
thanks anyway tho

No problem. But don't think you must have a 8.5 unless you run on a big track. Some guys run boosted 17.5 in our mod class and do very well with it.
I'd agree with that. 8.5 is actually quite a bit of motor. I see lots of people running faster motors but then turning them way down. I prefer to run as much as I need and no more.
Someone at the track informed be about drag brake. I'm running a little bit now, and it helped level out my jumping quite a bit. I can likely play with it to get it flatter still, but it was now within a consistently save-able range.
8.5t
I used a reedy 8.5t when I got the buggy to keep up in mod I was pushing 45mph I now went to a 10.5t Novak for the smoothness and it's all about the driver I can put laps down with the top 3 drivers practicing but experience and radio equipment will show skill, and gong from flysky to a 4pl and it made me feel like I had a winning setup
