thats good...it was so close....Tom and I were like a foot apart down the straight away because I was on the inside line on every corner and he didn't have the power to get around me....it was 2 close for my liking..i went wide one corner and he got by... not bad considering it was my second day of racing with the M03-L

Hello all fellow mini owners.Man I want to thank all for the helpful hints you guys have had on this thread. This is by far the best"fun" class to run.Its really competitive.Anyways, ran my m03 for the first race day.was 3 seconds faster then the veteran Fast Mini racers.I hope they didnt think I was cheating because I was yanking people on the straightand carrying mad corner speed.Won the main and was really happy with my car.Wanted to find out what 540 motors trix there are.I am running at tcs nats this weekend.Need all the help I can get as the competition is pretty stiff there from what I hear.Any baseline setups would be appreciated especially when it come to tire selection for the alisio viejo track.Again, thanks for the help and long live the Mini class!

UTIEH,
just saw your mini, nice rally car! im working on two more minis, ill post it as soon as its finished, hehehe!

SIPABOY,
hey fellow pinoy! i just saw your 9/4/03 post... here in the Phils i only run in the open class... i use a tamiya 23T motor typeSS and 20T pinions (only, their the fastest), full bearings, motor heatsinks, TA04 blue springs in front and red in the back (both no spacers, you may add some just to clear your chassis on bumpy tracks but keep it to a minimum), aluminum oil filled shocks, 40W oil, tamiya typeA all around, aluminum front upright for reliability (i always break the plastic ones, hehe!), tamiya servo savers(veryvery important for stability), futaba 9450 servo(or any metal geared servos), swaybars (depending on track), TAO3 ball diffs, FUTABA MC330CR ESC (because its small and has reverse), Airtronics mini receiver (because its one of the smallest and M8 controller, i also keep all my electronics in the small compartment in the chassis to lower center of gravity.... overkill?? hell no!! i love my MINI so it gets the best that i have!!!

LEM,
just saw your 9/4/03 post ....hindi naman... hehe!!! sweet mo naman....peace bro!!!

Tabs, nice job on hiding the esc on the m03 chassis. Yes, full blood pinoy here. Born and raised in Manila but living in California. Letran boy and grew up in BF homes Paranaque.fun class for sure. Here in the Bay Area the mini cooper is getting really popular and really competitive. The fwd are doing better than the rwd cars.Racenut123, stay with your setup. It wasn't 3 seconds ahead, it was more like 3 laps[he!he!]. Remember I did get second. You should have been in the RCCAR race sunday coz we had a 6 minute main for the mini class and it was a close race for most part of it.I think I'll stick with the m03L than the m03. Seems to traction roll less with the long wheelbase.Racenut and fellow mini cooper racers, GOOD LUCK on the TCS and show the sedans you can have the same lap times as them using mabuchi motors.

Sipa if the 04 hadn't had it's nuts cut off(19-21 vs 17tooth pinion) the results would be lopsided towards the 04.

See you guys tommorrow come over and say hello. I have a Jordan livery NSX and C. Barnes is doing a Orange w/green flames one for me look for the Yokomo stickers on it

Here in the SF bay area, we have a couple of guys switch from m04 to m03. I think the 17t pinion limit for the m04 is just right. When we race with the m04, I think they are still a little faster towards the straight than the m03. Just the m03 will eat the rwd in the corners. I guess with the larger tires, they had to limit the m04 gearing to a 17t. I think the m03 is more fun anyways. What is the ratio of fwd and rwd minis racing in the tcs finals[previous]?
