that looks great...

I wish I had taken my time to paint mine properly... got my F104 on Saturday... built it Saturday night in a hotel room after driving to San Jose from Los Angeles for a race... rushed to try to paint it Wednesday night while the wife wasn't around so she doesn't know I have a new F1 car.... all for the big F1 race on Sunday.... ruined my Tamiya body

tried to do fluorescent orange (Autobacs), but didn't spray light enough coats and it ran and bled... I'm normally way better than this... but I guess it'll have to do for Sunday.... meh....

SRBMOJO, does the stock axle simply push out of the steering arm? Is there a way to do this without scratching the axle? Thanks.

ekim80, very nice work on the Red Bull.

Just read your post and I'm @ work so I can't get to photos. If you have access to a smaller capacity lipo stick (3800,2400) just try one. My 3800 is about a 1/4 in shorter than the 5000 and goes in and out perfectly and with access to charge between rounds 3800 mah is more than enough battery. Sometimes I wonder how the extra weight of a 5000 would effect the handling but I am very happy with the 104 it is on rails.( now to work on my gearing)

Got hold of an F104 to use as a wet weather car (we run GT cars in the dry). Had to put the F103 front end on to it so I can fit the Cross Rubber tyres and to bring it back out to 200mm on the front.
Problem now is that it only sits 3mm of the ground, so not practical for the job I bought it for.
However our club chairman put in a bulk order for the 3racing F109, so I'll be having one of those to use instead

ekim80, very nice work on the Red Bull.
Stock axle comes out easily with the help of a soft hammer, no scratching.

Hey all,

Just got the 104 a few days ago and have never run a pan car before - lot's of TC wheel time. What kind of carpet set up do you suggest? I'll be running the silver can. After reading the last 50 pages, my initial set up is box stock with:
* Tamiya black front springs
* Eagle fronts - 35 and 40 shore
* Eagle rears - 25 and 30 shore
* 51mm roll out
* 5.5mm ride height - not going to true the tires down until I understand how to drive it and how the tires wear.

What do you guys think? What am I missing?

Thanks

I'm running 4000mah ni-mh from lrp in my car. I've "enough" oversteer to do circles on the track ;-)
