I can't seem to find a sweet spot with my car, I started out with Greg sharpe's standard set up for 17.5 rubber tire carpet and have tweeked from that, but my car is very twitchy on throttle and pushes off throttle. Where should I start? Running 17.5 x-12, tekin, and sweep tires on carpet. Car is balanced 50/50 f/r and l/r and is a little on the heavy side (1450 ish) due to some weight on the front bumper to balance. Any ideas?

Thanks for that, I will try that setup on the track next run.
Any ideas about gearing for a 10.5 novak motor?
I tried running from 26/90 all the way up to 37/90.
Heat was never an issue on esc or motor but surely 37/90 is too tall?
Still had heaps of power out of corners and reached top speed by the end of the straight. ESC is an old sidewinder until my new esc arrives, running 5000mah 30c packs.

The diff is still very smooth, I had one of our local fast guys look the car over and he did loosen it some and it didn't make it any better.

Try....

Different tires first, unless they are control tires.

Add more front & rear droop. I do a 1/4 turn on the wrench and then test.

Remove anti-squat / anti-dive.

Try lighter oil.

If that is pinion spur it must be 48 pitch because i run 35/118 for 13.5 I'll have a decent 10.5 number for you soon. Haven't gotten my 'lectric on the track yet this season.

I have tried sorex 28's, cs27's, jaco blues, and the sweep is the most consistant tire and gave me the best lap times, maybee John Wee could post a setup that he runs on carpet with the sweep tire?

man it took me long time to do this! every time I tried to upload a file, RCtech error occured.

IMO looser diff yiled less traction on less grip surface when you get back on the power and at the end of straight.

here is my sheet with Sweep EXP30WHT on a very slippery carpet.

I'm having lots of fun learning the Type R!
Another win! Qualified 2nd and took the main. Gotta love it!
With my xxx-s I was usually mid A feature and a win needed all the stars in alignment. Those extra couple tenths sure help!

After taking out all the flex the previous owner put in it, I'm still on pretty much the same setup shock/spring wise as he was.

I was surprised at how sensitive the car is to small swaybar adjustments. I also leaded up on the rear of the car for even more rear bias. It feels like a 12th scale now in comparison to my xxx-s.

I was getting a little on - power push. A little tighter on the front dif and that was fixed right up. It's sure nice having a car that responds to tuning so well.

I like my "new" R so much I just bought another for RCGT. I wonder if it will be as dominant in a class with same size tires f/r?

Hi guys, does anyone have an old diff or spool they don't need?
My front one way is not working on our track and I need to replace it with something.
I have ordered a Flying Fox Spool from Skyrocket Racing but they are out of stock.
I need something in the meantime, even if its just a worn out diff I can lock up.

Just wanted to chime in here and welcome back Mike Haynes on returning to the Losi Crew........ Great fun mixing it up with Him, and John Lee throughout the day. Three cars in the A Main for the start of the Control Freakz Outdoor Opener in Chaplin, CT. We were all running the Sweep Tires, 13.5 and the cars felt flawless. Bit cold but the cars were hooked up....... Not far from our Carpet set-ups....... So glad I went back and enjoying working on them as well.
