Right I've been searching this thread for the past hour or so read about shocks/springs (guess what I'll be dreaming of tonight!! )

Any way was reading reply 3378 and it was mentioned that 3 set of springs might be needed

So my Q is, would all the springs out of these 2 set be different stiffness's? or I get just 53440 set (seeing as there's a extra spring!)

It all depens if you are going to run oil shocks 50746 or the friction shocks!

If you run the friction shocks then spring kit 53333 should do the trick if you put a 5mm spacer ( fuel hose) like tony says on rc-mini.net. If you are going to use the super mini oil shocks then get the short spring: 56630-56631-56632.

Please refer to posts #8176-8177-8181 wich aren't that far back.

Hope this will help you, I've been through this step already and this is what the guys sugested.

Don't forget about the ride height it is VERY IMPORTANT!

What do you mean with that, Starteur? How and when do you tune your mini with height-changes?
I never touch that setting as we most of the times have a height limit of 3 or 5 mm.

Those looking for springs for the lowest ride height:

The springs that come as a set of three or four are not the shortest springs you can get. The individual packaged pairs are shorter. Tamiya 53630-53631-53632-53633, Red - Yellow - Blue - White

Hey girls and guys, just a quick question, im buying a Suzucki Swift MO3M, my first mini im so excited, anyway the question is does the stock kit come with an electronic speed control if so can this ESC handle the black can motor.

I think youll find sometimes the kit does not come with the esc.

The box usually has a little flourescent sticker on it with text saying so if it comes bundled with the crappy esc....

hey mango dont knock the cheapy esc. Best thing about minis is the cost and that little speedy is perfect for them. These cars cant take much past a black can, and the speedy handles that, and i have minis with the TEU speedy and other with GTX's, i cant notice the difference.

For me it doesn't matter if I'm running friction or oil shocks (which is what I'm running ) the springs should still do the job they intended to do!

I just need to know if all the springs out of them 2 sets above are different in there stiffness (no idea what other word to use there sorry )

If they are the same then there's NO use in me buying the 2 sets, I may as well just buy the 53440 set as that has a extra spring

Unless it is extremely low grip, a mini with the GTX will definitely outperform the speedie with the stock one. However, in my opinion there is no denying the fact that that the cheap esc is not a performance unit (ie crappy).
People reckon you can run a 27t motor off it, thats probably about it.

But ultimately if you are serious about running a mini you would be better off running a brushless ezrun system (which we run in australia). The black cans will die after about 4-5 meets and at $25? a can you would be better off biting the bullet and putting in the brushless system which will have much more consistent and long lasting performance benefits.
The only exception to that would be if you can somehow get your hands on one of the older black can motors.
