Doc Mertes is the source for the Red Dot motors as in rccardr. I have a couple myself and am a big fan of Doc's. However, with that being said, the real fun in it, is to see if you can do it yourself.

While learning, it isn't a bad move to get a Red Dot to see what you're shooting for. IMO they are the standard for the "hot" motors

Hey Matty,

Officially Lipos are VORTEC legal as of Aug 1st. Unofficially we've been running them in Minis for over 12 months at KROMA anyway! So...YES!

And we're gettin a heat of Minis most meetings at KROMA now, next meeting this Sunday.
TFTR is just starting to get a groundswell of them too lately which is awesome!

Good to see you back.

Matt,
The Yeah Lipo fits easy but I think Tony will tell you that you need to add the weight back as it makes the car a bit crazy without the weight of the battery. BTW, Yeah now also do a 4000 25C version that will fit as well

We'll have a how-to story up on the site soon.
But basically we have weight INSIDE the front and rear bumpers, and also inside the rear chassis.
On the lipos where there is a recess in the pack, you can sometimes put thin weights in there as well.

Quite a few guys were running Lipo at our club today, and without the weight, they just tip over...so you gotta have it.

Default YEAH RACING 4000 LIPO

I ran this battery in my MO3L on Friday night in a six minute final. A comparison of weight was my Powertube 4200 stick pack 454gms and Lipo 222gms.

With Lipo fitted no extra weight and running personnal transponder car weight 1284gms. I added 60gms to the rear chassis with the weight pushed towards the battery holder.

I did not change anything else on the car, retained the same ride height etc and the car handled the pretty much the same. No traction rolls.

I must say I was very happy with the results. I can't wait for these type of batteries to become legal.

The only modification was to use the two hole battery retainers, same as when you run 4200 stickpacks.

I was also using ride tyres and beat my previous best lap time at the track.

CYA
